I also enjoy dxm - the best form in my opinion is the "Zicam Spray". "If you have the means, i highly recommend you pick one up." It's like $20 for a trip but it comes on within like 20 minutes due to the high alcohol content in the spray, and you only have to chug like two 1 ounce bottles. The diabetic tussin, on the other hand, is good but it has a lot of sorbitol in it probably (low calories sugar substitute) which is known as a laxative in many people. My 2nd choice overall are robo coughgels, but if im binging i'll make sure to do an "agent lemon extraction" to remove the bromide ions - i've said it before and i'll said it again - almost every single negative symptom of dxm use matches up strongly with bromide poisoning. The extraction is simple to do with household materials.

Another thing you might want to try if you havent done it is mixing opiates with dxm - it triples the body high of both, and removes some of the weirdness and also removes some of the trippiness. Make sure to only use half of your normal dose of dxm and half of your normal dose of opiates though - the combination has an insane synergy.

i was severely addicted to cough syrup and i mean i have been addicted to everything from 7 years of daily clonaz and xanax use, to alcohol wd, to sever meth addiction, cigs,opiates (currently struggling with this shit)
and im telling you i was straight up addicted to dxm. at least 600mg-2 grams a day jsut to get by, like i kind of used it like an opiate but i fucking LOVED the feeling the trip, and i could always get more.so after about 7 years of that, i went to rehab, mainly for taking 4 bottles of robo jells a day.
then i kept tripping my face off...........all the time all the time, i mean all the time.
then one haloween, i drank only 600 mg and got so fucked up i could not possibly describe it and theres no way ii could put it on any scale. i was fucked the jesus out of me. i dont know. melting through the carpet, couldtn even form words. i mean, been there before, but this shit grounded me, flattened me out tripped me harder than i ever wanted. and it was almost as if it was telling me. "STOP" like, NO MORE DUDE. so i dont know i have never fried since then. i still use 30 mg every day i take opiates (every day) but i dont fry. a week ago i tried to fry on 300 mg, and i felt jsut COMPLETELY SHITTY. i remember trying like 2 other times, VERY low doses like 150 mgs, maybe twice. both times, horrible experiences.
have i hit the 10 thousand trip limit?

oh yea, and dextromethorphan polistirex is a time released dxm, each individual molecule of dxm is wrapped in a dissolvable plastic. i imagine all that gunk isn't good for you, plus the trip isn't as intense but lasts a lot longer.
my friend drank 4 bottles and was trippin for 2 days straight.
i drank half of one of the 5oz. bottles with my gf (thinking the high amount of dex would make us trip balls) but i didn't trip hard. it was weird, i felt like i was tripping but not, i could feel it vaguely but my eyes weren't darting around or any of the normal shit.

That depends on the brand; the shit I use is called SafeTussin and has 15mg DXM per 5ml. (purchased at Walmart)

Don't use anything containing anything but DXM as the active ingredient. If you'd rather down a bunch of cough gels, then get those - others mentioned Robitussin cough gels contain 15mg DXM each with nothing else. If you'd rather drink a bunch of cough syrup, get the 8 oz. bottle mentioned earlier or something similar.

Basically - pick up anything with "tussin" in the name, look at the back of the package, and look for "drug facts." You are looking for something containing only dextromethorphan hybromide (or polistirex in the case of delsym).

But, from what I understand, Delsym is supposed to be somewhat of a controlled release formula, meant to last ~8 hours. So take that into account when you dose if you decide to use Delsym. Though, no matter what, you'll probably need to set aside the next six to eight hours or so for it anyway.

Actually, I find that if I've taken it a few days in a row, it takes a while before I can actually use doxylamine to sleep again..

And if so, i want to try some out. But after reading this it has gotten me a little bit worried.. I'll be tripping in my friends shed this weekend. Is there any recommendations from experienced DXM users that you can give me? I want a trip that will make me hallucinate (I like strong trips usually) but nothing over the top.. And I dont want ANYTHING that will work as a laxative. does anyone have any recommendations?

And is the nausea really really bad?

dxm's a dissociative
you can get hallucinations at 4th plateau doses but you'll be really fucked up. like, not leaving the room for a long time fucked up.
a 4th plateau dose is usually somewhere above 600mg
the nausea doesn't effect me at all but it has in the past. smoke weed, it makes the trip way better anyway. also Dramamine will help a lot. on top of that you can trip off Dramamine itself so throwing a few of those in can only make you trip harder.
you'll probably wanna try dxm a few times beforehand but i took a recreational dose of dxm and a recreational dose of meclizine (Dramamine, non-drowsy formula)
that was a trip to remember...
i think with dxm you should work your way up to a 4th plateau dose, bombarding yourself with such a strong trip for your first time has a good chance of making you hate the drug altogether.
there are 3 other plateaus you should check out first.
we'll say each 150mg is one plateau for a noob.
a 4th plateau trip will be intense and if you test the other plateaus first you'll probably decide on a 2nd plateau trip for future endeavors. on the 2nd plateau you feel awesome but are still functional.
4th plateau's the only way to get hallucinations though.
also deleriant antihistamines (diphenhydramine, dimenhydrinate, meclizine) will make you hallucinate at recreational doses. it's more like a voluntary state of schizophrenia on these drugs though, interesting but can be a little less than fun by themselves, mixed with dxm though it's just insane

Alot of interesting advice today it seems. Positrex or Delsym or whatever its called does not work, at least ime. Guifenisin is safe in high doses though as its been said it does cause nausea and it makes the tussin taste dreadfully aweful, which is a good reason to not want to have to taste it coming back up too... Antihistamines are not safe in high doses, and most people don't enjoy the toxic anticholinergic effects of delerium, though some do enjoy them, and they can be pleasant in low to moderate non-hallucinogenic doses. I find 250mg of diphenhydramine to be about the maximum dose for producing that stoney sleepiness, above that the dehydration-like effects (you're not actually dehydrated, just feel like it, if I understand it correctly) are just so waaaaay to unpleasant. Cottonmouth so bad you just keep drinking water every 2 seconds then having to piss and not being able to... uuggh! The best, easiest, and cheapest method is still the Robitussin maximum strength cough formula or generic equivalent with 15mg DXM per 5ml dose. The 8 oz bottle has ~775mg in it and its not to hard to chug down and chase with some Pepsi or something. If its your first time, 2-3 oz is probably more than plenty.

As I mentioned before I personally have to limit my DXM tripping due to its sexual side effects it has on me, so me and my gf typically only dex-trip about once a month.. hehe ...but I'm still interested to hear if anyone knows the answer to Sprecial K's question about how common is ED as a side effect?

dude maybe your small or a girl or really sensetive or something but theres no way your going to hit a fourth off 600 mg. that is barely where the second plateau rocks you. i cant imagine taking under a gram and getting a fourth plateau trip but whatever some people are really senstive i guess. i just thik your dosing is off.
you have to factor in body weight, and race and a few other things before you could tell what plateau a certain mg MIGHT take you to. thats the thing though...............dxm does have a mind of its own. one night, 600 mg just might throw you into an unpredicted 4th plateau or 5th in my case. and sometimes 600 mg wouldnt make me feel anyhting at all.to be safe, dose one grame at a time until cough stops. (lol its a joke please dont take that seriously)
