DXM Withdrawal..?

Ok just some background information.. I have been using DXM for about 3-4 months now. For the first 2 months I used DXM twice a week, usually 700mg each time, then for about a month I used once a week, now for the last few weeks I've been using twice a week again. When I began, I would use Robitussin Long Acting Cough Syrup, but for the last two trips, I have switched to Delsym syrup (DXM Polisterex). For my first two Delsym trips, I have drank two 5 ounce bottles, which is a total of 1,770mg DXM Polisterex. However, Delsym is time released, so my guess is that it would be 1,200mg DXM 2 hours after ingesting, then 570mg DXM 6 hours later.

The last time I dosed was Thursday night, and it's now Saturday night. I woke up with a bad sore throat, and the symptoms have only got worse since then. These are my symptoms as of now:

- Sore throat (is slowly getting better)
- Coughing
- Mucous in my throat (have to keep clearing my throat)
- Itchy feet (bottom of my feet are bright red, hurts to walk)

Have any of you DXM users ever experienced symptoms like this? I'm pretty sure it's just me getting a cold or allergies, but I want to make sure. Thanks for any help, fellas!

Hey WD,

The coughing and mucus are normal after effects of DXM, it's why they tell you not to use it if you have a phlegm-y cough as it increases mucus production and after numbing your diaphragm for an extended period of time it will be sensitive and easily irritated.

I'm not sure about the red, itchy feet but I'd see a doctor about that.

Just to give you some peace of mind, I'll relay my experience with DXM. Multiple times throughout my life from about 19-20, I've gone on LONG DXM sessions. My usual journey's go for 1-2 weeks of almost daily dosing between 700-1000mgs of the Robitussin Long Acting Cough and Cold with 30mg/per ML, the 4oz. sized bottles you can buy at just about any CVS or Walgreens in the USA. My sweet spot dose is right around 750mgs taken all at once, followed by another couple swigs about 4-6 hours in of 2-300mgs to extend the experience. DO NOT START ANYWHERE NEAR THIS DOSE. IF YOU ARE GOING TO TRY THIS COMPOUND AT ALL, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BENZO OF SOME TYPE ON HAND JUST IN CASE. I HAVE PERSONALLY HAD A SEIZURE FROM TAKING TOO MUCH DXM ON TOO REGULAR OF A BASIS ON 2 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, SO BE CAREFUL AND HAVE RESPECT. If you're looking for a functional Arylcyclohexylamine that's similar to DXM, but more versatile - check out 3-MeO-2-Oxo-PCE (Methoxetamine). It's WAY cleaner feeling than DXM, much more versatile as you can condense a full trip into a shorter amount of time because the duration and intensity of trip is quite different. A 4th Plateau DXM trip will CRUSH even the most experienced of users, myself included, so be remain aware of this fact.
Overall DXM is an amazing drug, and I love how it's available to people all around the world. I'm an ex-heroin addict, and it makes me smile to know that the drug that helped me get clean initially is available at you local drug store. When I first got clean off of Opiates, I would switch back and forth between DXM, Ketamine, and LSD for my Psychedelic Psyche needs to help my brain recover from a REAL detrimental drug addiction. I've taken DXM daily for up to 60 days in a row before - yeah, seriously. I was alone 99% of the time, so I was no danger to anyone but myself if I got too high, and I always kept at least 5mgs of Alprazolam on hand just in case I got too out there and wild. Dissociatives are BEAUTIFUL teaching tools for the addiction afflicted, you just have to keep yourself and others safe. Being so closely related to PCP - you have to be careful that you don't get into that Superman strength, out of touch with reality zone where any kind of behavior is possible. This can be a VERY liberating feeling and useful effect of the drug - but you HAVE to make sure that you respect the boundaries of other people which can get complex on high dose Disco's sometimes. Regardless, have fun my friend.
