DXM Tripping w/ GAUIFENESIN worried about dose

Hello Bluelighters,

I am just looking for some advice and information on this subject...

me and my friend just bought 2 bottles of generic Tussin DM

Active Ingredients per 5ml
DXM Hbr 10mg
Guaifenesin 100mg

1 bottle has 237 ml

so its about 474mg of DXM
and 4740mg Gauifenesin

we both drank 1 bottle each and have those active ingredients listed above floating around in our system.. its been about 40 minutes since ingestion....

im worried about this gauf....im wondering whats gonna happen with such a high dose...

Well IME drinking the syrup with gauifenisin will probably give you nausea.

but for future reference UTFSE or try http://www.erowid.org .

You'll be fine, just make sure you record the projectile vomit as it may break the world record for distance/volume! (joke) But yeah nausea is your only worry.

I'm not trying to judge, but don't you think its a bit irresponsible your worrying about it after you've already taken it?

You should do your research on drugs before you dose them, not after

processing that much guaif is obviously hard on your liver and kidneys, but then again a lot of the inactive ingredients in cough syrup probably are too, so eh. i have heard often that using too much guaif too often will lead to kidney or bladder stones though.

Guaifenesin is largely responsible for the nausea one feels on DXM. But you shouldn't worry about that much from just 1 bottle of Tussin. I've dosed Mucinex DM, high doses with them (contains a buttfuckload of guaf in it) and have came out of it okay. YMMV, though. Some people aren't that susceptible to the guaf, some are. It's no need to worry though; if you're concerned with other actives floating around in your system then it may be in your best interest to dose Zicam MAX the next time you intend on dexing. It contains only DXM and there is very little of it to consume, roughly the equivalent to a shot of alcohol. Tastes like putrid hobo jizz though, and I mean the sort you find in Manhattan subways.

I've gone alot higher in guaif dosage (up to 8+g) without nausea or any ill effects. But in the spirit of harm reduction I should advise you to stay away from it in the future as I'm sure it isnt entirely safe to consume large amounts of it.
