DXM Sucrets extraction problem?

Hey guys, I recently found an article explaining that you could extract the DXM out of Sucrets with nothing but water and a coffee filter. This of course interested me considering that Sucrets are 60% cheaper then Couch Gels and I wouldn't have to down 40 pills.

So I followed the directions down to a tee.

Crushed lozenges, 670mg worth (my regular dose is 600mg but I added 70mg to account for losses), added to boiling water, let dissolve. Waited 20 minutes for DXM to separate from the water, strained and microwaved remaining DXM on the coffee filter. Scraped residue off, ingested. I got a high comparable to 300mg, but nothing more. I was shocked, but mainly disappointed.

So I assumed that the microwave must have destroyed the DXM.
Tonight I decided to do the same thing, but in a different way mentioned on another forum. I put the lozenges in a bowl, added two cups of water, stirred and put the bowl in the microwave for 1 minute intrevels (5 minutes total). I let it cool and when the DXM separated to the bottom I took a turkey baster and drained the top liquid very carefully until I was left with a little water and a load of DXM slush. I maned up, mixed it with coke and downed it. Two hours later, still no high. I even used 700mg this time.

What could I possibly be doing wrong?

i thought you had to do an acid-base to extract dxm

maybe through this insanely simple process your breaking down the dxm by heating it to high temperatures

The acid is with the syrup, Sucrets are lozenges. All of the articles/videos/guides instruct you to use boiling water so I don't see how it could be that.

Hey all, I know this is pretty old so sorry for bringing this back up BUT!
A guy I met in the hospital quite a while back told me he used to just poor delsyum through a coffee filter into a jar, eventually leaving what he claimed was pure DXM powder/crystal which was insulflatable. Now I've always been curious if it'd really work even though I have very little interest in DXM. So does anyone have any tips in case I might try this simple extraction? I actually had a friend try this method for me years ago but I can't remember how it turned out.
