DXM. (Not worth it?)

Took about 3/4 of the small bottle of Robitussin, the first thing I realised is the body warming, felt similar to opiates.
About 30 minutes later a nauseating effect came in.
The nauseating effect still isn't going away 5 hours after consumption, this leads me to believe that I will not be trying DXM anytime soon.

What were your guys first experiences with DXM?
What product did you use?(Powder,Bottle, Ect.)
 
I used this spray bottle (zimax/zimex? something like that), downed 2 and I had a nice disassociation going. You gotta make sure that the only active ingredient in the bottle is DXM, cause they put some nasty shit in some of them that'll make you feel nauseous and possibly throw up.

It was a nice time overall although I felt spaced out the next day. The last time I did it was about 3/4 a year ago, did 2 bottles, 3 nights in a row. By the last day I was fucked, suffering what I perceived to be full-blown psychosis for a day or two, which gradually tapered down. I was hearing voices in my head and whenever I tried to speak I couldn't form the words properly. Never ever wanna experience that again, but if you don't go over the top like I have a tendency to do, you should be fine. Although some people react adversely to higher doses, so don't push it far unless you know you're not susceptible.

I got the bottle where as dxm is the only active ingredient. The solution itself just makes me want to gag.
I don't see myself doing dxm anytime soon man. Not worth it, and from what I hear you go fucking stupid after longterm use. I'll stick to lsd, shrooms, and dmt.
 
I used to enjoy DXM but I can't really get myself to do it anymore. I used to always use the syrup, except for the last time I took the gelcaps and got extremely nauseous from about 700mg.

Nausea is a common side-effect of DXM cough syrup, even if there are no other active ingredients. I'm not sure if the pure powder would be any better.

It's by far not the last resort. I have a stuffy nose so I got this, said what the hell, I'll get the DXM kind. Drank 3/4ths and that's the end of it, I've have my DXM experience. Just, wasn't worth it.
 
Its pretty dirty imo... You can feel it fucking with your CNS...

I have done it a few times, Wouldnt call it "Tripping" just really dissociated to the point u feel like your coming out a dream, then, going back in.. Passing out i guess...

Last experience, I had no visuals, Got some stomach discomfort and was virtually stuck on my bed for 4 hours or so just fading in and out of consciousness.... this was off 2 bottles... I had used 2 bottles the day before aswell... (guessing i over-used it abit too much (duh))

the day after, My CNS was completely fucked on, was literally getting the shakes and had very noticeable twitchs... Very dirty in my opinion, You FEEL it screwing with your body, not very pleasant for me.

would not recommend it, but, If your up for feeling fucked on (not the good kind), by all means, go hard, son..

The times when it was "enjoyable", it wasnt... Just spacing out n robo-walking and again, major CNS disturbances.
 
Its not for everyone. I personally don't have much desire to fuck around with the 2c-x's very often due to the comeups I've had on I and E (with I giving me the most physical discomfort on the come up), but I find DXM's nausea/gastrointestinal issues to be worth it on occasion. DXM can put you in some unique head spaces which are outstanding, or it makes a great launching pad for other drugs (allowing you to dose smaller minimizing some of the discomfort).
 
speaking of which i have been doing a lot of research on rc's to further my knowledge outside of 2cb, 2ce, 2ci, and 2cp. . . it seems that alot of the sites i use to browse are disapearing and the ones i have found i have no refrences to check there capability to deliver on the product they advertise
 
DXM is my favourite drug. I don't take a ton of drugs. But I have tried almost all of them. I always come back to DXM because of it's unique head space; the fact that it will actually ween you off other drugs and has limited addiction potential. I like what one user said about being able to take less of another drug while on it. Doctors would actually like to use it for people on morphine except that the two combined would cause respiratory depression.

I guess for the effects alone, no it probably wouldn't be my favourite. LSD or ayahuasca or something like that would be.

But DXM has been such a huge part of my life. I actually wrote a whole fucked up album on the stuff (in like 1.5 hrs) as an experiment. It's... well it's absolutely bizarre. But I love it!

Also for anybody experiencing upset stomach from DXM. I am quite sure that is from the powder itself. What works WONDERS is pepto bismol. Especially if you love the taste. Drink some when you ingest. Should do the trick. If you find any nausea later take another small shot. You'll be laughing.

dxm is a shit drug. im not usually one to put down other peoples' experiences but i can't help feeling like (many, not all) people want to justify their dxm use when they could be using better dissociatives like ket

idk, some people like it, and good for them. most people find the gastrointestinal effects uncomfortable, and the high either "mediocre" with reasonable dosages or "confusing/weird/uncomfortable" at higher dosages.
 
man, like, I have the worst headache right now... probably on the same level of an alcohol hangover.
 
See, stories like this are the exact reason why I have 2 full robo bottles sitting on my refrigerator for the last 3 months.

And for the guy who said "people want to justify their dxm use when they could be using better dissociatives like ket"

Actually it's more simple then that... It's because it's LEGAL, cheap, and you can get it at your corner store lol. Can't say that about ket...
 
DXM is only worth it to me when i use Zicam Cough Max (the stuff the second poster was talking about).

Zicam Cough Max contains ~400mg of DXM in .55oz of liquid. It isn't sweetened very much at all and has farrrrr fewer inactive ingredients than any other OTC DXM preparation. These two factors make it much easier on the digestive system than other products.

Compare Zicam's 400mg:0.55oz ratio with Robitussin Cough Max's 350mg:4oz ratio.

A lot of people hate Zicam's taste, but I think it mainly has to do with mindset before taking the shot. I have a friend that can gargle the shit and has never minded the taste. The taste gets to me sometimes personally, but I have used it a lot. Developing an aversion to certain DXM products is a documented phenomenon.

Personally, I feel that DXM is worth it. At the moment the only drugs I have used that I rank above it are 2C-P and DOI. (I've used many different 2C's and also DOC. Also, I have used 4-MeO-PCP. Never Ketamine though, I'm too chicken to order a scheduled compound.)

The main problem with DXM is that the addiction potential is very real if you enjoy the stuff a lot. Also there is severely diminishing returns with frequent use as far as psychedelic effects go... but lots of people keep taking the shit anyway. I developed a huge tolerance to DXM (two bottles was barely a second plateau when I quit), and I am currently taking a year long break from the stuff.
 
DXM is not worth the horrifying feeling that comes with the syrup or the pills. And while Zicam (especially back in the days of Zicam Nite) made for amazing times, the taste is fucking horrendous. For those with 'sensitive' taste buds, a weak stomach, or experience with drugs that don't involve feeling fucking horrible in exchange for some trippiness, pure powder is the only way to go.

Some people still won't care for the head-fuck (most people who don't like dxm powder won't like a lot of dissociatives, I have a feeling), but if you enjoy dissociatives, powder is the way to do. The syrup/pills really make the experience feel kinda nasty. Some people can get past that and enjoy the ride, but a lot of people can't. I've never felt shitty from powder + PEG, its always very clean and a powerful state. It's been quite a while since I've played with it though.
 
I'm sure the main reason why I hated it was the stomach discomfort, if you try dxm, please try the powdered pure form.
