I'm new to Bluelight and thought I'd introduce myself to the psychedelic folk here.
I'm 46 yrs old and have been experimenting with substances for as long as I can remember. My partner and I are both former drinkers. I was physically addicted to alcohol, and getting sober has been the hardest challenge of my life. I will have four years of sobriety (from alcohol) in March (thanks to SMART Recovery), and my partner is approaching her third year marker. I'm a substance abuse counselor and she is in training to do the same. We both have bachelor's degrees in psychology, and I have one in English as well.
I have used LSD many times in my younger years and tried psilocybin twice. The experiences were good if a bit speedy. I like to read about and research substances thoroughly. I think we have a rather arbitrarily placed line between food and chemicals. We all manipulate neurotransmitters every day. The smart thing is to do it thoughtfully.
We have been using a lot of DXM in these last three months, and I've got to say it's been a miracle drug for both of us. We both had a whole lot of psychological baggage in our heads that had been hidden away for years. My issues related to my mother (passive-aggressive, emotionally punishing), who was herself damaged by her mentally ill mother. My partner was sexually abused as a child. We were treading water, waiting to die, but in the last three months we've stopped trying to sleep our lives away.
It's a whole new world. I want to share this with you.

Ve & Lite
z mark). I've seen no ill effects personally, but my tolerance is pretty high. I could take 720mg of DXM and still feel completely confident that I would be able to drive (And usually if I get high off of marijuana I'll let a sober friend drive, not that I support drinking cough syrup or driving).
