DXM HBr salt conversion?

I am wondering if it would work to change DXM HBr into freebase with ammonia and then to citrate with lemon juice? Basically the end steps of the agent lemon extraction but I have pure DXM HBr powder. I want to try this if it works to help it be easier on my stomach. Thanks BL.

I don't see why not if you have the right stuff to do it.

Remember: Dextromethorphan citrate is still a acid salt. It will most likely irritate you in much the exact same way.

Agent orange is really meant to get rid of the Bromide atoms... If you don't abuse DXM that much, you should be nowhere near getting bromide poisoning.

How often would one have to be consuming DXM to get bromide poisoning? i have been doing it pretty frequently.

one can also speculate if the bromide influences the quality of the experience, since it is psychoactive itself: "Potassium bromide and sodium bromide were used as anticonvulsants and sedatives in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, until they were gradually superseded by chloral hydrate and then the barbiturates."
