DXM HBr and Morphine

Does DXM have an effect on respiratory? It's not a CNS depressant right?
Sorry if you see this topic often, but I'm getting mixed results. Some say DXM elevates heart rate, while others say it slows it down and slows breathing.

Average tolerance, I can still get a buzz off 10mg of Oxycodone. No DXM tolerance really. Second time doing DXM. Already consumed 25mg of Morphine 4 hours ago and just consumed another. I have about 300mg of DXM here. Should I be in for a good night? Anything I should worry about? I.E: Dying.
Haha, again sorry if this seems repetitive but I'm getting mixed results. Anyone try this combination? I did hear someone say that DXM is a good potentiator.
 
From the info I can gather DXM does seem to have the risk of increasing respiratory depression from other drugs even if at regular and even somewhat high doses of DXM alone it seems to be fine.

If you don't want to worry, avoid the combination. If you must take them together start extra low with the DXM and give it a long time to start working before deciding to take anything else.

Sounds good. Took the DXM and the 25, two hours in and the feeling is pretty good. I feel heavy and weird from the DXM. Its hard to describe.

Man, a strange post from a mod. Although DXM is often used sub 100mg doses to potentiate opiates for opiate dependent people, mixing high doses of DXM with an opiate can be fucking fatal. DXM does in fact cause respiratory depression and this effect is synergistic with opiates. This is a great source for combination info - http://www.dextroverse.org/faq/dxm_mixing.html.

I am adamant about this topic because, although i have mixed opiates and high dose DXM in the past i was highly opiate tolerant. My friend once thought he was going to die from mixing 500mg DXM with 10mg hydrocodone, opiate naive. Said he couldn't catch his breath for hours.
 
I see what you're saying, but in my opinion if this person said he couldn't catch his breath, he couldn't catch his breath. I've tripped with him so many times on DXM. Know him well. It's not that he was near death but the respiratory depression definitely wasn't fun.
 
Well, I'm alive and I didn't really recognize any shortness of breath or breathing difficulties.
I don't really like DXM alone, but with morphine I love it.
 
I think it's pretty easy to get worried like hell on opiates like that and it is one reason why I don't like the heavier ones... and my post was meant to dissuade anyone from trying this. Still, it should be clear that when I said: start extra low with the DXM, that is similar to what you said about the 100 mg which is definitely a significant difference from 500 mg. It seems like a lie to say that any way to try this would probably kill you, from what I understand about it that isn't exactly true.
We hope to inform people about the truth, although I am still typically the person to suggest avoiding thing just be safe, which I did here as well.

Unfortunately if you say "if you must", a lot of people experimenting with drugs feel like they indeed must.

While I am glad anon got away with the 300 mg, it is a shame that this seems to spur him or her on to continue doing this even though there are good reasons to just avoid the combination.

I started low with the DXM and Morphine. I took half before and half maybe 2 hours into my trip.
While occasionally sipping the DXM. So I don't advise doing it, but in low doses it is safe. Just like benzos and opiates.
