DXM + Guaifenesin question

Okay, so I have some generic DXM(20 mg) + Guaifenesin(400 mg) pills, and I was wondering if 2,000 mgs of guaifenesin would make me sick AND if 100 mg of DXM would even give me a buzz.

I don't want responses saying "just go buy dxm only pills." I want to test this now and I don't have a car to go buy a bottle of Robotussin.

PS. If there's anyway I can extract the DXM from the guaifenesin without using ammonia, then I would greatly appreciate your knowledge.

Definitely not worth it. The Guaifenesin WILL make you sick and you won't get much from 100 mg of DXM.

yeah, i'd say don't do it....

those proportions are certainly not worth it. you'll be more-than ODing on the guaf before you have an enjoyable dex night.

i remember reading that guaf is less lethal than other cough syrup additives, but it's still stupid to take high doses of it. go find some Robo max strength cough, with only DXM HBr as the 'active ingredient'....lol, that is if you must drink cough syrup.

i think the zicam is less syrupy gunk...right guys?? don't take my word for it, just pulling thoughts from memory. someone here can confirm it...

oh my god man dont do it. the second time i ever tripped off dxm was on mucinex, and that shit is loaded with guaf. i felt fucking amazing for an hour or two, calling up everyone in my contacts letting them know how great life was, followed by about 4 hours of thinking i was dead. endless vomiting and dry heaves, not being able to move, i remember getting and my car trying to drive and i seriously tried to start the car for 30 fucking minutes. i could not do it. i thought i saw god coming out of the sky to take my soul.

but you are kind of 'putting a bar up' by posting a question regarding whether or not that will get you off, but saying 'i want to test this now' and denying logical input telling you not to.

there's always more time to try drugs....no need to make yourself sick because you're in a hurry.

guaifenesin will make the experience very uncomfertable at those levels. Just buy some DXM only syrup, gels, or other formulas. It isn't not hard to find. It should be at your local grocery store or drug store.

some people can handle guaf, some people cant. personally I've taken up to 16g of guaf and didnt even feel sick. stay away from dairy and anything that will create mucus. I've never heard of guaf being lethal but I do know that long term chronic use of guaf can cause kidney stones.

I take it you have generic mucinex pills, are they extended release?. you wont be able to get the guaf out of those.

You don't want responses that say: don't do it, but that is the responsible thing to say. What is the point of this thread, you want to wait until something says go for it to get rid of your conscience?

I would say, if you have no option to get DXM-only product, then either extract it using a method like this: http://www.dextroverse.org/extractions.html (lemon tek) or, if you don't have the materials for it or the patience just don't do it. Keep it for when you do feel like doing the extraction or getting a DXM-only product.

If you are impatient and wanna do it anyway then you seem too irresponsible to be messing with things like this. Why even come to a harm reduction forum?

And extended release formulae, can't they be broken down with an acidic solution for example? I mean, that would simulate a stomach environment right?
