DXM giving limbs "a mind of there own"?

The last time I was with people who were tripping on DXM one of them said that there legs were moving by themselves and it took huge amounts of energy to control there legs. Another person had there arms flailing everywhere uncontrollably and said there arms were moving by themselves and they couldn't control them. Can someone explain to me why this happens and maybe give me advice on how to stop it?

Also another question. While tripping my friend got really angry and his personality started cycling really fast from crying to feeling in love with everyone to feeling like he was on Ecstasy (figure of speech). Can someone explain to me why this happens also? I understand DXM is a dissociative but I never imagined it to do this.

BTW all these people took 240mg

DXM is a pharmacologically very complex drug. It's far less of a dissociative and more of a freaky SNRI antidepressant at first and second plateau doses.

Lots of people feel very uncomfortable or have a nasty body load sue to the serotonin and norepinephrine that builds up. It can cause euphoria or anxiety attacks depending on set and setting.

The freakiness with body movements is probably due to the dissociative effect making them feel like they're unaware of their body. It can be overcome with force of will alone, or if you get them to relax... repetitive motions can also help.

I've taken DXM with plenty of different people in plenty of different settings and never has anything like that happened.

Flailing limbs? Weird.

Rapid mood swings on DXM? Also far from the norm. DXM usually puts one in a tranced out state of mind, very analytical and usually quite peaceful.

In England we only get DXM in cough syrups. They come in 100 mg bottles containing 7.5 mg of Dxm ( i favour robuttison dry)

I'm going to assume your mates were quoffing syrup as well so I'll assume they were taking an average dose of DXM. In which case 'flailing of the limbs' would be unusual.

Anything serotoninish could cause tics or jerks. If your friend is also on some kind of serotogenic med whilst taking DXM its possible he could have been suffering from mild serotonin syndrome (SS). This could also explain the aggression as agitation along with overactive reflexes are symptoms of SS.

Have a look at the wiki entry for Serotonin Syndrome. I would suggest you discreetly ( as he might not want you to know he is taking meds) show him the page. SS can be fatal.

I know what SS is and I know it's not SS, he's not taking any meds. Plus he doesn't act like he's having a seizure his arms and legs just act for themselves. One example is when my friend's feet were walking and he had trouble controlling where they took him. Another example is my friend's arm slapped himself without him voluntarily moving it.

Thanks that sounds helpful i'll keep it in mind.

Shuffling about bumping into things are common when people first take DXM ( I think its called a robo walk or something like that)

'Another example is my friend's arm slapped himself without him voluntarily moving it.'

that sounds like Tourettes Syndrome which is another neurological issue.

^ indeed robo walking lol. I felt like a Raptor while walking around on DXM the first few times. I think the strange limb movements have more to do with their psychological barriers being knocked down. If it was just one person having the issue then I'd think it might be something else.
When I first starting using DXM i would do some strange things, like sliding around on my back inside a gas station, luckily I knew the kid working there lol. Even now I end up acting really strange on DXM, like having to take weird short steps to ensure I don't trip over a curb.

Id like to do a survey once Ive got the hang of this forum re how many dextronauts have a messiah complex :D

Of course Im the only one that isn't merely deluded about my diety. <3

i've had the whole messiah complex a few times lol not from DXM though.

Sometimes I can't walk properly (can't feel my legs usually) on a good dose of DXM. I remember walking out of a theatre after watching a shitty movie on about 600mg of dxm. I had to climb stairs and go up an escalator. There were tons of people around and I honestly had to drag myself up the railing of the stairs one step at a time so that I wouldn't fall down and I was moving so slowly. Then the escalator came and I was holding on for dear life. I don't think i've ever fallen down or anything though. The escalator really gets to me when i'm on dxm though, when to get on or to get off, my timing and reactions are always way off, probably just paranoid someone will think there's something wrong with me and call for help.

Laughing head off! Oh how embarrassing!!

I'm glad I found this forum. Nobody knows about my DXM use. In England its more something a tramp might be doing.
Not knocking any tramps that might be reading but I'm on the PTA ffS :D

Love from Jesus

Actually in england DXM isnt illegal, so you can obtain it rather easily. (the powder form)
Not that you'd want to really, (Unless you want to give it a try)

It made me very mood swingy ,but no flailing arms or legs Lol . Maybe if some psytance come on =D

powder form+ you dont have all the other ingredients which can kill. Also it seems to kick in better when not in a syrup lol.

Seemed like when i was experimenting with it had to use extra brain power to walk around and do what i needed to do. Though at the same time i Wanted to get up walk around a little bit for the challenge of doing it haha

Lol he was giggling like a crazy asshole and then his hand just slapped him. Got him to shut up though :)

well 800mg powder made me do a 20 second long fart hahaha just thought id share that, it was hiliarious for me

I can relate!! Entertaining isnt it lol

( not the kind of drug that you can go out and have a flirt with people with those s/e he he)
