Okay so I had 15 Mucus relief DM pills, like 400mg guaifenesin and 20mg DXM, so in order to extract the DXM I ran boiling water, and threw the pills in for about 2 minutes stirring them in, and I did this because guaifenesin is soluble in hot water. DXM is only 20% or 25% soluble in hot water or something close to that, well after 2 minutes the water had turned green (due to the color of the pills) I drained all the water out into coffee filters, and was left with a white paste that was kinda sticky, I microwaved what was left to evaporate the left over water, and the final product was a white powder, barely clumpy at all. Well I may have done my math wrong but just assuming if 15 x 20mg = 300mg
300mg taking away just 20% leaves you with 225mg of DXM or something close to that. Which should have been enough to do something, but in fact I exp nothing at all. Did I extract it wrong? Was my math off. Just looking for insight and tips on what to do next time.
