Okay so swim would like to do an extraction using dxm only syrup, ammonia, & naptha.
The one problem with this is, swim has seen on erowid not to use syrup with alcohol as an inactive ingredient.
The extraction method from erowid uses lye instead of ammonia which may or may not have an effect on the alcohol.
Swims question is, if he was to preform the acid base extraction using ammonia to separate the dxm from the syrup & then evaporating off the naptha would the alcohol (1.4%) in the syrup somehow screw up the extraction? it seems like it would either 1. just create the "cloudy layer" described in various other extraction guides, or 2. mess the whole thing up.
Swim would rather not waste his money if it does mess something up. Is there anyone who has tried this?
Swim would use syrup containing no alcohol as an inactive ingredient but he can't seem to find it anywhere.
also, its alittle off subject but swim wonders if the same enzyme that causes lactose intolerance also causes hypersensitivity to dxm or even the complete opposite (by this swim means no high is felt at all). can anyone shed some light on this subject as well? swim only asks because he gave someone who is lactose intolerant a small amount of dxm for their first time & they said they felt either very little (probably placebo) or no effect. This possibly could have been the dosage, swim only gave him 5 robogels give or take 1 or 2 & though he was fairly small he didnt know about the empty stomache rule.
