So about a month ago I tried DXM for the first time and instantly fell in love. Had a lot of incredible experiences, profound thoughts and feelings.. what a crazy drug.
Anyway, there is something I'm really confused about in terms of dosage. I've tried DXM a bunch of times over the past month to get a real sense of it, and I've had radically different levels of highness. From mildly buzzed and quite coherent, to tripping balls and hardly being able to walk with double vision.
The thing I'm really confused about, is that I've had radically different highs with what I am almost positive is the same amount of DXM. A few weeks ago I was with a couple of friends and we decided to share a 250ml bottle of the syrup between the three of us. I don't know exactly how much I drank, but I can guarantee it was not a huge amount, likely 1/3 to 1/2 of the bottle. Which is the equivalent to about 350mgs. I remember feeling moderately high, but it kept growing.. and after a few hours I was literally the highest I had been in my entire life, no exaggeration. I was hallucinating open-eyed, I could hardly walk straight, I was in a complete other dimension.. it was fantastic and very intense. It boggled my mind how I got THIS high on such a small amount, especially when I had consumed more than this amount on previous occasions and never felt this high.
A couple of nights ago, and on other occasions as well, I consumed the same amount or more - almost an entire 250ml bottle by myself. I was far less high than I was on that day. I could even read clearly which I find is often difficult on DXM. I could read, write, think, walk, articulate, all perfectly well. And my vision was hardly distorted at all, and no open or closed eye hallucinations. I still felt different mentally, but it was not a very intense high.
Now I have really only one hypothesis as to why I could experience such drastically different highs with around the same dosage. In case you are wondering, my high from a couple of nights ago cannot be minor due to tolerance of DXM. Can it? I hadn't done DXM in over a week when I dosed that night, so even though it was still in my system it had still been several days. The day I got high out of my mind, I had done DXM several times that previous week so much more was in my system.
So I'm wondering, could the opposite be true? Is it possible that if you do DXM a few times in a week, each high will be stronger than the last because even over a few days the drug is still in your system? I've never experienced this kind of thing with any other drug. There have been times where I have done another dissociative (k) a few times in one week, and each high was about the same, there was no buildup in my system so I don't even know if this idea makes sense. Can a high build up over time like that? Or is DXM different somehow. I don't know much about the science behind this. And I am also skeptical of this theory because I don't think each progressive high during this week was stronger than the next. I think the intensity varied quite a bit - the very first time it was quite intense, the second not so much, the third more, etc. Each with similar doses. Shrug. I also wonder does sleep have anything to do with it? I can't really remember, but it's possible I was running on little or no sleep that day I got insanely high. Does being over-tired have a way of greatly intensifying your high? But again, I have experienced sleep dep many times with other drugs and never noticed a correlation to dramatically increased highness.
Anyway... just trying to figure out how these incredibly different experiences are possible with the same dose of DXM. I would like to get to a high plateau again like I did that day... but will consuming very large amounts actually get me there? How did I get there on such a small amount? If anyone has any ideas let me know.. Pretty damn confused..
