I took DXM alone on many occasions and always enjoyed it.

I took 390mg of DXM and 100mg of Dimenhydrinate yesterday.
So I was waiting around with friends and whatever, then I got this weird feeling so I went and watched TV alone, it comforted me a little.
Then I noticed my heart began to start beating fast and hard, this never happened before on dxm alone.
My friend who was on dxm alone came in the room and said that I was scaring him.
I had these rushes through my body and my heart just kept beating harder and faster and I was freaking out.
I went to the bathroom and took off my shirt and just curled on the bathroom floor. My friend came in the room, he was just being their for me, I looked at him and said, "I'm scared", I could see it in his eyes he was scared for me.
I thought to myself, "this is it, my life ends here, my heart's going to stop, or i'm going to black out and not wake up, on the bathroom floor."
"I need to go to the hospital" I said, but stupidly decided not to several times.

I was basically froze on the couch with my heart beating too fast for my liking..
As the night went on and my pulse slowed slightly, I noticed every time I moved slightly I would get these tingling/pain rush through my body and my heart would start beating harder. The dxm eventually wore off and I could move again, it's just that my heart was still freaking out. I slept on that couch.

I was really scared.
I thought I damaged myself badly..
When I woke, my heart was STILL beating way too fast, but other than that I was okay.
I drove back to my home town and to walmart where I checked my blood pressure, to notice that it went from a usual low/normal, to dangerously high and my pulse was a high 93 compared to my athletic 60ish.

I went to the hospital where the nurse said my pulse wasn't that bad and said it was probably because I was worked up, and she didn't believe my blood pressure, she checked it twice, then hooked me up to an ekg machine, to find out that my heart wasn't damaged.. (I HOPE THE FUCK NOT)
I waited to see the doctor, but english wasn't his first language, so I just nodded and basically all I understood is that it will be a couple of days before my blood pressure/heart rate will return to normal, my chest also hurts.

So.. I'm officially done with drugs, seriously, I thought I was dead for sure.

It feels really good to be alive.

I understand that it's easy to have illogical fears about your health when you are high, but now that you're sober you're being far too dramatic about things. DXM and Diph is generally a dangerous and stupid combo, but you did not take a dangerous amount of either drug. Even the smallest amount of research would have told you that. Unless you have some pre-existing major health problems that you have not disclosed, the idea of you coming anywhere near death from that is laughable.

A visit to the doctor was going way overboard. I assume you told him that the reason for your visit was your recreational drug use (I could be wrong, you weren't very specific). That was a big mistake, because the doctor most likely labeled you as a drug user in your medical records.

If so, you can forget about ever being prescribed anything even remotely abuseable in the future, even if you are in dire need of it.

Yeah DXM and antihistamines is generally not a good combination. Ever heard of coriciden?8) And like the person above me said, you didn't have a high enough dose of either of those.

He took a low dose actually, same thing as two benadryl, nothing wrong with that.

Lots of people use it to get around the robo itch, which I've only experienced at 600mg+.

DXM can cause your heart to beat pretty fast alone, it scared me too, especially since I would smoke weed on it which made it beat faster, but its a normal side effect and nothing to be worried about.

Im not sure what I wanna type here.

Theres a part that says "please try to research before you freak out" because this just leads to further illegalization of things.

Then theres the part that thinks that if somebody seriously does hurt themselves, that they should just f'in go to the hospital cause I dont want somebody to die.

But no, its basically impossible to have hurt yourself on that dose unless you weigh like 10 pounds.

This post is a pretty good summary of my feelings.

Danke..

In addition, I do wanna say what you thought you were feeling happens sometimes on DXM. Typically you are dissociated to the point where you dont really notice your heart rate. But usually, in every trip I had, there was a point where you paused, noticed it going fast, and in my case even had to think to breathe.

This moment always subsided after a bit. But I'm sure if you gave it more attention it would probably be the only thing you'd think about.

93 bpm is not dangerous at all. In fact it can often be a normal resting rate (even if a bit high)
I would worry if the bpm rose above 130 for a prolonged period of time. My anxiety causes me to have a resting rate of 120-130 at times... but never usually higher. Speaking of anxiety, you had an anxiety attack... the addition of Dimenhydrinate introduced anxiety to your trip. I would say that it's likely that will never be a good combo for you, so avoid it and stick with just dxm. I also noticed you were obscure about your "high" blood pressure" 180/110 is around the numbers where you are in danger. I think your issue was all just really bad anxiety. I know what it's like, been there done that. Anxiety can raise your blood pressure quite a bit if I might add.
