DXM / depression

I thought that Ketamine and DXM both work on the same parts of the brain.
There is also suggestion that DXM is a mild serotonin releaser.

Ketamine is extremely effective at treating manic depression

^ They are both NMDA antagonists, but differ in the other pharmacodynamic aspects of their mechanisms of action. DXM has a much stronger effect on serotonin then ketamine, acting as a reuptake inhibitor for both serotonin and norepinephrine. They also both act on the opioid receptors, but DXM acts on acetylcholine receptors as an antagonist whereas ketamine does not as far as I know. I believe ketamine also has a greater effect on certain signal transmission pathways involving cell hyperpolarization, making it a better anesthetic then DXM.
