DXM cured my depression (at least for now)

I thought I'd take DXM. I've been deeply depressed for a while now. But today I just feel great. Completely refreshed. I look in the mirror and I look amazing after looking shitty for a while now. I took it yesterday and have just felt amazingly optimistic. Time doesn't seem to drag on like it usually does. Do you think this will last or am I gonna go back to depression when I wake up tomorrow (I haven't slept in 40 hours). I just feel like a brand new man right now it's great. I started the trip about 30 hours ago and haven't been able to sleep for some reason.

yeah dxm is known to do this, as well as MXE. The afterglow cures depression/anxiety for me. I'm sure this effect wears off fast enough with tolerance though but i've heard of people using low dose dissociatives for anxiety/depression to great success, usually to the point of mania. In a controlled setting where you didn't abuse them these chemicals may greatly help with depression/anxiety.

DXM is a SNRI (serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) with sigma agonist properties that seem to make it very amenable to depression treatment, as long as you limit yourself to "small" doses.
it shouldn't lose efficacy for several months at the least. at best it will continue working forever if you don't abuse it.

Cool! I Hope you're right. I did 2 of the 4 oz bottles so it was supposedly plateau 3. I felt I didn't feel that disassociated although I don't have anything to compare it to as it was my first successful DXM or any disassociate trip. The come down was very enjoyable I closed my eyes lying down and listened to music and pondered my life from a way more optimistic view than usual. Will consider doing it again in the non-immediate future.

Feeling good for a few days after taking a drug is not "curing" your depression, it's just masking it. Start talking about it being cured if after several months of complete sobriety your symptoms still have not returned.

The length of post-dissociative mood lift varies between people, for some of us it's less than <24 hours, for some it's more like 2 weeks. But yes I would expect your emotional state to return to baseline, and insomnia is perfectly normal after taking large doses of dissociatives.
