dxm children/adult cough syrup difference

Hey guys i was at the store and bought robotussin children ... Is it the same as taking the adult one? I always read how nasty is dxm but i just drank 100mg and it tasted sweet should i take more because is children syrup or as long it has dxm is the same?

DXM is DXM, as long as the only active ingredient is DXM it should be fine. Usually children's formulations are dosed lower, however.
 
Thats why i chose the children one it was the only one with only dxm as active 7.5mg per spoon i took 15 thats.like a 100mg ... So.its the same then it taste so.good haha
 
always takes me more than an hour to start feeling it, also does not sound like you took much
 
Well the bottle says 4 fl oz (118ml). 7.5mg of dmx per 5ml means i had like 120mg dxm if im not wrong with the maths haha . Tomorrow ill try 2 bottles

One question though i see people complain alot about the. taste this thing tastes very good like strawberry should i buy 2 next time? I felt nothin after 3 hours.
Should i try another brand ?

check a online dxm dose calculator the dose you will need to trip will depend on your body weight
 
180 mg is on the low side - I used to take around 300 mg for a well rounded dose (lower end second plateau I guess?), though still not incredibly strong for most people. It can really vary so yes if you didnt get any result dose higher next time. I'd say at least double indeed.

And from what we can tell from other posts the childrens formulation is that apparently it is about half as strong as for adults, I believe a bottle is usually 300+ mg. So stick with adult formulations in the future but most importantly make sure DXM is the only active ingredient.
 
Almost all of adult syrups i found had other active ingridients. Any brand recomendation? If i cant find any ill pick up 3 children bottles.wich are the only ones i found with dxm as only active

I would recommend the Robitussin gel tabs: 300 mg DXM per bottle, and no having to chug syrup. Zicam Cough Mist Max is also good: 400 mg DXM in a 15 ml shot. But if you want syrup, look for Vicks Formula 44 Dry Cough: it tastes alright for syrup and has 354 mg DXM.
 
I generally get CVS or Walgreens brand Robitussin gel capsules, which are 300 mg to a bottle and usually cheaper than any brand name bottles. These only have DXM in them, and are much more pleasant than chugging syrup, which always had me hunched over a garbage bin.
 
Ya it is dosed with less dxm then adult is. You prob want to do more than 100 mgs like at least 200 and probaly 300 mgs. Robotussin gels are great but the syrup sucks. If your gonna do a syrup do delsym. Also there are pure dxm tablets available all over online and pure powder.
 
You want the highest proportion of DXM per mL possible. Children's syrup will have the smallest proportion. Take the adult stuff and it will taste nasty, but at least you won't have to guzzle a whole litre of it.
 
Waltusin adults grape from walgreens 354 mg per bottle 4oz i recommend.this.one.after tryin.it nice grape taste i didnt.get full.effect.of.it cuz.i.ate.pizza one.hour before ... I felt like.dreamin awake with.my.eyes.closed then i.would open them see where i.was and back.to the same dream if i can.call it that.
I.felt like a.sack.of.water of somethin like that jaja.
Ill try 400mg next time.

If.u.want a tasty syrup.try this one i took the.whole bottle like juice jaja
