First off, I'm a 18 year old 191 lbs male.
One morning at around 5am, I walked down to the store for my daily coffee. I had a headache, so I wandered down their small drug isle and picked up a 2 pack of advil. I looked down and noticed a cough syrup i've never seen. "Vicks 44 dry cough". I've heard of DXM before and wanted to try it, but had no luck at all finding something with only DXM. To my delight, I looked at the back of the bottle and saw the only active ingredient was DXM! I picked up 3 bottles, paid, went home.
Later on that night, I took enough tablespoons to get a 200mg dose. Drinking the stuff was grueling, but I sucked it up and drank it.
Shortly after, I smoked a joint and sat down. For an hour, I just felt the effects of the weed. After that, I got a "drunk" feeling. I walked funny and my speech was a little slurred. I didn't get any of the music euphoria or any other effects. A few hours later, I just went to bed. I didn't feel any hangover the next day.
Dissapointed, I decided to take about a 400mg dose the next night. The syrup was absolutely awful, but still drank it. I was told to wait an hour before smoking any weed after taking DXM, so to pass the time, I went for a walk.
On my walk, I began feeling very nauseous, but I figured it was just the horrible syrup taste still in my mouth causing it.
When I got home, I smoked the joint and sat down. Felt the nice effects of the weed, but no DXM feeling. Until about another half an hour later...
I felt VERY nauseous again, so I went in to the bathroom by the toilet just in case I threw up. While in the bathroom, I felt extremely hot and was drenched in sweat. Once the hot flash/nausea episode passed, I figured I wasn't going to throw up, so I went and sat down again.
About 15 minutes later, the same thing happened.
I didn't have any other effects the rest of the day except intermittent nausea and really annoying double vision. This persisted until I went to bed about 5 hours later.
No noticeable hangover the next day, felt back to normal upon waking up.
