DXM + Cannabis + ???? (Robo Itch)

I'm planning to try a whole 4oz bottle of Robitussin Long Acting Cough Syrup. The whole bottle is 354mgs of DXM only. My friend will consume a bottle aswell and we'll smoke some weed along the way. The first time I took this syrup I had terrible robo itch and I'm worried I'll get it again. I heard benadryl takes care of that problem but I tripped on benadryll a couple times before and now even 25mgs of it will give me horrible anxiety and I'll be nervous and paranoid for the entire night. I heard people say not to take any second generation allergy medications such as Claratin but it seems like no tests have been done. So my question is, would it be okay for me to take one Loratadine (generic for Claratin) with DXM? Maybe an hour before consuming the DXM, and would it prevent robo itch? And if anything, the generic Claratine also says non drowsy. I heard you can't take those with DXM either -.-
 
Not sure why people would say not to take 2nd gen, I often use them for opiate itches. Can't think of any negative health effects you'd get by combining, where'd you hear that you shouldn't?
 
It's gonna be dangerous for that particular drug, because it's toxic when not metabolised. With loratadine though, the only effect you're gonna have by it not being metabolised quickly is decreased effect (due to one of its metabolites having most of the antihistamine effect) and having the loratadine in your blood for longer. It should be perfectly safe, just make sure to take the loratadine an hour or two in advance to taking the DXM to ensure that it doesn't mess with its metabolism.
 
Yeah that post pretty much says that one 2nd gen antihistamine (terfenadine) is dangerous as DXM can inhibit CYP3A4 (one of the CYP-450 enzymes), which is needed to convert the pro-drug terfenadine into fexofenadine (the antihistamine). Terfinadine causes heart problems and as been withdrawn from the market because of that.. Loratadine should be fine.

This interaction checker found no interactions although interestingly it does warn that grapefruit juice (a CYP-450 inhibitor) can extend the effects of loratadine, so as nAON said DXM may well do the same if it does act as an inhibitor. This isn't dangerous however, unlike terfenadine.
 
I just swallow 1, and usually I'm fine. If you're still itchymcgee, take a second. Wouldn't advise more than this though.
