DXM and Ropinirole

I figured since this involves pharmacology, ADD was a good home for it.

Ropinirole taken last noight at 1030 PM. Takes effect by midnight. 12 hours later, Dxm is to be consumed. So, my question is- If there is an excess of dopamine swimming around (I'm only assuming, I read a few studies but never got a solid answer as to the duration of the dopamine agonism; That is not necessarily the half-life, right?), would excess dopamine in combination with the DXM be uncomfortable or even toxic to the 5-HT Axons?

Sorry, you need a bit more pharmacology than that to have this thread in ADD. It's a drug combination question so ---> BDD

Ropinirole doesn't actually "increase levels of dopamine". As a dopamine agonist drug it instead mimics dopamine at (some - not all) dopamine receptors in your brain. It may actually end up decreasing levels of DA, paradoxically...

Given that you don't actually say how much DXM or ropinirole you're taking, nor how much you weigh or anything, I can't answer your question. But after 12h some of the ropinirole should be excreted (depending on physiology and dose, maybe all or most of it) so there shouldn't be much interaction. I'm not even sure if ropinirole and DXM interact negatively - DXM is not thought to have much of an effect on dopamine.

I wouldn't go rushing into a high dose DXM trip without doing more research though.
