Opioids DXM and other NMDA-Antagonists for Opioid Withdrawl

I remember reading along time ago here on BL a guide to doing Opioid Cold Turkey and what med's to pick up to help ease the pain.

One of them was DXM, now does this help cause it's related to codeine although not an opioid itself or it is because it's an NDMA-Antagonist like the anesthetics Ketamine and PCP?

If it's the latter then I could just sub' DXM for any of the other NMDA-Antagonists correct?

Also DXM can cause Serotonin Syndrome if a person is taking SSRI anti-depressants (Prozac, Citalopram etc...) where as far as I know ketamine, PCP and methoxetamine don't do this, correct?

Methoxetamine and citalopram don't seem to anyway, as I'm on 20mg of Cit' and have taken upward of 80mg of Methoxetamine, I had a tolerance at the time.

DXM isn't related to codine. I usually take like 6 coricedens and after tripping for a few hours, I come down and have the afterglow. It helps re-arrange my brain to kick the addiction. I wouldn't mix DXM with SSRI's.. as I'm not on any and dont know much about the mix.

But yeah.. the DXM helps get me straight again, and avoid the depression, and re-arrange my guts. Along with some Immodium, and watching Trainspotting.. then I'm back to 'clean'

DXM is a SNRI and NMDA antagonist dissociative, it should not be combined with SSRIs.
It's not an opioid at standard pharmaceutical or recreational dosing levels, but it does help with some of the withdrawal.
