DXM and Clonazepam Combo

Hey guys, haven't been doing too well lately with debilitating anxiety but finally my doctor wrote a prescription
for some Clonazepam.

The question that has been bugging me a bunch is how would a low dose of DXM (say 80mg) and moderate
benzo dose combo feel. Is it relatively safe? I dislike huge doses of DXM but after getting sick I have no
choice but take both drugs together.

Also I saw conflicting accounts of people mixing these substances. Some say it is extremely dangerous
with somnolence and vertigo. Others swear that it is a superb combo which comes with euphoria (which
is always welcome). I understand it is very likely dose dependent, but what would be a good dose to
have me feeling groovy?

It is indeed very dose dependent, I wouldn't go any higher on the DXM dose.

It is worth noting that just because it says there are no interactions doesn't mean that there aren't any - just that there aren't any in the database for that particular checker. I tend to use and trust that one but is not 100% guaranteed!!

I mean they are both cns depressants, so just keep your doses equal. I'm pretty sure your smart enough to keep your doses within range and know when your hitting that point etc.

80mgs of Dxm?? I don't think you'll feel anything off that dose...I would say 150mgs at the least.

In the matter of harm reduction, I'd say to go with the original plan and start small. Easier to work your way up than down...

Just wanted to add to this - with any drug where you are vastly exceeding recommended doses (such as with recreational DXM) keep in mind that these checkers are indicating interactions at therapeutic doses. With only dosing 80mg, it's probably still more useful (although not fool-proof as effie demonstrated) but I wanted to make this note for others possibly reading this thread.

DXM is probably the most commonly used substance that this applies to but it also applies to any OTC or Rx that is taken in substantially larger doses to achieve recreational effects.

I think 80 mg DXM is low enough that you aren't going to have a problem. The main thing about DXM is that it can cause serotonin syndrome when combined with certain drugs like SSRIs or MAOIs or any drug that causes a serotonin release (like ecstacy), but 80 mg is pretty low. I've taken that much with hydrocodone (see my thread under trip reports) and it had a great effect. I've never tried that with a benzo before. The only thing I would say is be sure you are at a safe dose of kpin (or a dose you know is not too high for you) before you go adding anything else to it.

Used this combo on multiple occassions in much higher dosages. Clonazepam keeps any anxiety from arising during the DXM trip, although I wouldn't consider 80mg to be too "trippy" at least ime.
