Hello all. My story begins at my on campus apartment on a Sunday night. I decide to take some DXM as my Monday classes were canceled. I took the dose rather late, around 8:00 pm. My roommates know of me using this drug and don't approve so I am always hesitant to leave my room. (I live in a single room.) Around 9:00 pm I start feeling great and message my good friend, and the only roommate who approves me doing DXM, and tell him to come hang with me. We settled on going into to the living room as by now most of the other guys are in their respective rooms for the night. I ask him to send me some EDM music as enjoy listening to that while on DXM and like a good friend he sends me some links. I put on my beats and proceed to JAM OUT! I don't mean just head bob I'm jumping out of the couch throwing my arms in the air for about 2 hours. After becoming tires and drenched in sweat I lay my head back and close my eyes hoping to get some visuals. I see my brain and I go right the middle of it splitting the left and right side of the brain. Every then goes white almost like puffy clouds with an orange beam shooting through the middle. I then see vivid dark purple everywhere with black storm cloud like figures coming down from the top left. Then all of a sudden I feel an electric shock to my body. I take a deep inhale and look over to my friend and he looks worried. He says "I kept hitting your chest but you wouldn't move what the hell dude! Your music turned off, you weren't talking, you were just laying there." Even though 700mg isn't the most DXM anyone has taken something about this just doesn't seem normal. Let me know what you guys think!

Hey, welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your story. :) I came to say that you can put your mind at rest; what you experienced is completely normal. DXM, like other dissociatives that work as NMDA receptor antagonists, has anesthetic properties. That means that at a sufficiently high enough dose, once you get into those trance states or out-of-body experiences, to an outside observer you may just appear like someone who has been put into a temporary medically-induced coma to undergo a surgical operation. So, to the uninformed you may look lifeless... which can freak people out who simply know you're on drugs and don't know what else to expect, so your friend's reaction is somewhat to be expected, but you can tell him he doesn't need to punch you repeatedly next time you're soaring through the ether. ;)

My next response to him was "I was having such intense visuals!! What the hell man!" Thank you for the information and the reply it is much appreciated!
