So Friday night I took a bottle of Vicks 44 at 10pm and it didnt do much. So then on Saturday I went to work at 10am, did that, got off at 3pm, came home, and at 4pm started on 2 bottles of Vicks 44. I had both down in about a half hour and then I just waited while watching TV. Eventually it got pretty good despite the horrible feeling of 2 bottles of syrup in your stomach.
However, there was a theme to my whole evening. Earlier in the week, I had gotten some MP3s from my uncle. They were Allan Holdsworth - Panic Station and Saga - Wind Him Up. Thus, I was in this prog rock mood from the get go. I downloaded about 100 songs over the course of 3 hours and by 7pm was really into the DXM on the 2nd plateau. I loaded up my iPod with Genesis, Saga, Rush, Allan Holdsworth, Yes, and Jeff Beck. I had been reading all these biographies of the bands aforementioned beforehand so it made sense. I went out on my apartment's porch (3rd floor) and sat in a chair looking out at the sunset. It was very euphoric with the music.
Eventually I went back inside and told my roommate we should walk to the Genuardis Supermarket that's about a quarter mile away. So we did. It felt like it took HOURS. When we got there, I wasnt even hungry or anything and I took a piss in the bathroom. We eventually walked backed home and I grabbed my iPod and went for this walk around my development past a lake and what not. It was pretty fun and got me goin. I was on and off of the 3rd plateau at this point.
Then I decided around 9pm I should get more DXM.
My roommate left to play poker somewhere so I took my Saab and drove to an ACME supermarket a mile away. The car is stick shift so it was very hard to pull off and when I got there I was pretty out of it. I walked in, grabbed the last bottle of Robo Max Str. and walked out. No way I was paying $7 for that. I got in the car, drove home and took about half. For the rest of the night until like 11:30, I was in the 3rd plateau not knowing much. I just kept listening to my iPod full of Fusion/Prog Rock and emailing people.
Then it happened.
About 12:30am I was pretty tired so I put on music and laid in bed after drinking more Robo. Looking at the ceiling I eventually lost it. My screensaver projected bright colors onto the ceiling and I saw greek gods in them. Vortexes. Everything made sense. I was lifted off my bed and brought through worlds unknown. It was spectacular. I could look at myself on the bed and wave to my body. My whole body was numb even though I could control my fingers if needed and after I snapped myself out of it about 45 minutes later, my body was all tingly. I did the journey again but couldnt get it as good as before. Then around 2am I was just plain old tired and tried to sleep. It was pretty hard because the DXM tends to keep you up. I woke up again at 8am and after 45 min was able to fall asleep till 11:45am.
Overall, it was an insane trip and tons of fun, but I think my days with DXM are done. It has too many bad things with it to make it worthwhile.
