DXM - 450mg - First Time - Impressed

Posting this for a friend.

Drank 3/4th from the bottle and threw the rest out, thus an estimate of 450mg was consumed. It doesn't taste that bad actually. I felt slightly nauseous a little while after, so I decided to eat Maccas and felt greatly relieved.

30 mins after ingesting the liquid I began to feel its effects, slightly tipsy in a way.

1-1.5 hours in I've reached the peak level. It's extremely similar to alcohol, I'd also like to note that at different times it also felt somewhat similar to K, nitrous, and the smack out feeling of MDMA. Not entirely sure why, could just be flashbacks I guess.

The effect was a lot stronger than I expected. The high build up in levels, a rather strange feeling. We were sitting at a park, it was around 8 at night, really cold and dark. My vision became pixelised. Talking was very challenging. I sat alone for approximately 10 minutes. Had really strange thoughts going through my mind. I tried to talk but nothing would come out. For a minute or 2 I was convinced that I lost the ability to speak. I got up and tried talking to one of my mates, I was slurring gibberish. On the third try I put a whole sentence together. Everyone was laughing, I found it quiet funny also.

No visual or auditory hallucinations were experienced. The peak lasted approximately 1.5 hours. When I was coming down, the effects diminished really fast. After the initial peak was over, it took somewhat 30 minutes till I was completely sober. No hangover or noticeable side effects were experienced.

First off, DXM as cough syrup is sold in 118ml bottles, and there are 10mg of dxm per 5ml. that comes out to about 232.5mg of dxm. if you chugged 3/4th's of a bottle, you would have gotten around 155mg. I have no idea where you got 450mg.

The 2nd reason I know you didn't take 450mg, is the duration of your trip, being (from what I can understand) 2-3 hours. 450mg could be anywhere from high 2nd to mid 3rd plateau or even low 4th plateau if you have a light body weight. It would have lasted way longer than that, and you would have tripped for 8+ hours.

Thirdly, you said no auditory of visual hallucinations were experienced. At that high of a dose (450mg, as you claim), especially on your FIRST time, you would have been completely mind fucked, for lack of a better phrase. 4th plateau would have probably have done real psychological damage.

Not to be harsh, but you either made this up (aka, lied), or you think you did a lot more than you actually did.

Read my report of a dose of 255mg. The trip lasted 30 hours before I felt completely okay again. Though I am most likely CYP2D6 deficient, a trip of 250+ mg can easily last more than 2-3 hours.

Robitussin DX - every 10ml contains 30mg dxm. 200 ml all up. 3/4 is the estimate of 450mg
i'll be doing a bottle this week end out in a club. will tell you how it goes
30 hours? you must be one of those people who are really sensetive to dxm. i myself once tried half a bottle (300mg) i was fine. the high was not that overwhelming. the high lasted about 3-4 hours

DXM as a cough syrup is sold in many different sized and concentrations. For example, a generic robitussin 8 oz bottle contains about 754mg of DXM. And everyone is different, some people may take more/less to reach certain plateaus. Why so quick to jump down his throat?

I have had a 375mg trip last only a couple hours, and a 750mg trip last me about 12 hours.

this trip does not sound made up. pretty much sounds like a spot on 2nd plateau gig. Talking gets easier with more practice. I can talk coherently on twice the dose I could than when I first started.

sounds like the trip poster has a fast metabolism. usually the time-line for me is about 50% longer for each "stage" in the high.. although I never completely come-down until I get some sleep.
