Heh, my first trip report on BL :)

I dont have any experience with psychedelics before and this is the 2nd time ive done dxm (first time was 120mg 6 months ago)

My body weight is 60kgs

9:00pm : Drank down 300mgs of Robitussin DX Dry Cough Forte(30mgs dxm per 10ml syrup) in the form of shots from the supplied measuring cup. The first two shots were OK, but then the rest just tasted like ass and made me want to vomit 8o

9:30pm: Just lying in bed watching tv. When i yawn i get a weird/nice sensation in my lower back, similar to that you would get when your going down a slope really fast on a rollercoaster. This is how i know the robo was kicking in as i also felt this last time i robotripped...

10:00pm: Decided to turn the tv off and was listening to some UK Hardcore on my mp3 player. The music sounded different, it was as if it lost its "depth" and sounded sort of distant. I wanted to take a piss, so got out of bed and started walking to the bathroom. now i REALLY felt it, fully robowalking - it was as if gravity was on acid and didnt know which way to pull!. My cousin (who was staying with me for a week) commented on my funny walking. Luckily my mum didnt see me :P . Whilst taking the piss i coudlnt feel my dick and would often forget im taking a piss :| . I stumbled back into bed, and decided to turn on my "Hyperspace" screensaver whilst still listening to my mp3 player.

10.30pm: I was encapsulated in the visual journey this simple yet effective screensaver delivered. It was as if i was traveling in space, and later time. I had fallen into some sort of dream whilst still awake thing. I dreamt way back in the past when i was a little baby 2yo---->5yo. I later told my cousin what i had dreamt and the things were exactly how they were back in that time. It was as if i was observing a history doco about myself 8o .

1.00am: Just sitting up in bed talking to my cousin and looking at the walls. The walls were moving and looked really cool :). I doubt anything i said made any sense but my cousin was amused at my altered state :P .

1.30am: I tried to go to sleep now, however im still buzzing and i cant sleep at all. I find that i sometimes forget my body is still here. Like all i can fell is my mind, and had no longer any control over my body. I had to concentrate really hard to regain control over my body again. Somehow i managed to go to "sleep" after about an hour of lying in bed.

9am: Wake up still feeling the effects very much. Im still robowalking badly so had to sneak a trip to the bathroom making sure my mum couldnt see me. Everything seemed to be "buzzing". If any of you guys are gamers it was like playing CS with a shitty graphics card getting 20fps - ie i was getting lag lol. Like i would turn my head but my mind would take a while to register that. My coordination is non-existant.

I felt weird, sleepy, and tired the whole day. Often drifting in and out of sleep.

It is now the day after, and i am still feeling that "lag" though not as bad. I really want this "trip" to stop, it the experience is just too long and weird to handle. I have my car license test tomorrow and need to feel atleast sort of normal to do it! Fuck, why did i decide to do dxm 3 days before im getting my license! 8(

This has been quite a neutral experience for me, i doubt i will do DXM again and will probably give the rest of my bottle to a friend :P . I really miss feeling "normal" again.

you might lack a cytochrome p-450 enzyme that metabolises DXM, a small percentage of people do. Any residual will probably be gone in a couple days, just relax and don't sweat it too much.

well, too bad, DXM isnt for everyone. judging by your long effects, you may be enzyme deficient. see CYP2D6, its the enzyme that breaks down DXM and some people naturally have less of it. some medecations can supress it to.

Perhaps I'm also enxyme deficient, as the same thing happens to me even from low dosages of DXM. I really hate that shit... although I did use it about 10 times with good results when I was much younger.

I went and checked the wiki about CYP2D6, and it listed terbinafine as an inhibitor. Im currently taking 250mgs of terbinafine/lamisil a day for a foot infection, so could that be the reason why this trip lasted so long?

That could absolutely have been a factor in the duration of the experience. I would very much count on it, though its probably not the only reason.

I'd say you aren't lacking the metabolizing enzyme though. For people who do, 300 mg's would have sent you on a spiraling trip out of this universe much harder than it sounds like hit you (even though i know yours was strong, of course. theres still a difference)

The hangover I experience from DXM (which lasts at least a day) really sucks. And yes, it also makes me feel very lazy and sleepy; sometimes I feel inclined towards depression, even.

But when DXM was a new thing to me I absolutely loved the dissociation. I would usually travel to space while listening to some techno. Usually whatever I'd imagine would come true; I always picked to go to outer space because to me it was the most entertaining.

As for the flashbacks, they're pretty common too. DXM is a great drug for exploring your psyche.

I'm not exactly sure how the enzymes work with this but I do know that 300mg just could be your high dosage. 430mg has me in a full out 3rd plateau experience. 600mg and I'm blacking out throughout the experience. Does anybody know if you can have the proper enzymes but for whatever reason your body metabolizes it at a different rate? It seems like I'm hit with it really hard, really fast, and after 4 hours I am completely baseline but those 4 hours are hellaciously intense.

I know exactly what you mean with the vision lag. I also get this in the audio sense...the audio sort of lags and my brain tries to piece fill in the gaps. This is why atmospheric music is GREAT with disocciatives.

That's funny, Chimeric... I also get a tremendously long-lasting hangover from DXM, up to 36 hours of total effecs or so depending on the dose. When I first started using it, I loved the hangover. But now I absolutely hate DXM, especially because of the hangover.

Slippy, DXM only lasts 4 hours for you?? That's hard to believe... I mean, I believe you if you say so, but that's a really short time for DXM.

All I can say is... psychedelic dissociation is absolutely fascinating and powerful as a tool both of utility and recreation. So I'm sure as hell glad that ketamine exists, especially since it's more pschedelic as well (in my opinion anyway).

:) ;)

My last DXM experience:

Midnight: Took 600mg in the gel forms.
1.00 A.M. : Slightly feeling it
2.00 A.M.: Hits my brain like a train... I end up up on the floor, cannot move my head off the floor.
2.20 A.M. : Panic Attack ? Not sure, hazy from here on out.
4.30 A.M: I come to in my bed (which I have no recollection crawling into), feeling completely sober and baseline, save a bit of the body high but not much to speak of.

So yeah, that is what 4 and a half hours. I was blacking out on and off between 2.20'ish to the end, and I have maybe a total for 4 seconds of memory from that time frame.

I find DXM to be as psychedelic as ketamine but just in a different way. DXM is much, much darker and has more potential for negative effects. They both have their place if disocciatves are your thing. One of the things I enjoy about ketamine is the rather short duration, and that the peak hits me so hard and so quickly that it is impossible for me to get anxious (IM'ing, I hate the nasal route, because I started IM and nasally it is just a much rougher come up for me, in comparison anyways).
