Opioids dxm 150mg and methadone 40mg

Hey guys, today i was trying to potentiate 40mg of methadone. I took 150mg of dxm and 200mg of tagment an hour before i took the 40mg of methadone. Its now been an hr and 45 min later and it still hasnt hit me? Is it because i tried to potentiate it that its taking so long to kick in?

Ive been taking methadone recreationally for about a week at doses of 20 to 30mg today was the first time i took 40 mg any ideas why it hasn't kicked in yet, or is it gonna kick in at all?

I'm scared maybe since methadone and dxm both work on NMDA Receptors that the dxm was too much and is blocking the done' i would be so pissed any answers guys or am i just not waiting long enough?

I would have started with a lower dosage of DXM, like 60mg. Whenever I've taken above that (for the purpose of opiate potentiation), I've noticed that rather than a more intense opiate buzz, I'd become really loopy from the Dextromethorphan, and it would ruin the whole experience. Perhaps I am very sensitive to DXM though.

I found this abstract to be interesting, though it is very short. I honestly couldn't find too much information on the specific combination, though it is interesting that Methadone has weak NMDA effects.

On another note, I would really be carefull about using methadone recreationally for a consecutive period of time, especially when you are raising the dosage and throwing potentiator's into the mix as well. Remember, methadone's half life is between 24-48 hours, so it each dose builds up on the last if you continually take day after day. You could very possibly overdose by taking the exact same dose you took today, Tomorow. Just something to think about.

I wouldn't even use 60mgs, I find anything above 30 just makes me feel odd. The one and only time I ever tried to use dxm for recreation, I used 150mgs of pure dxm in syrup form and thought the high was awful. Just felt a bit drunk, a bit high on weed and a bit out of it. My opinions proly biased though cause I hate psychs and don't even like weed.

And just from that 150mgs I couldn't sleep well that night and still felt really off the next day. I might be really sensitive to dxm though.

It takes 4 days for methadone to fully build up in your blood and effect you.
The first day I did methadone was the only day I felt any real effects from it... and it was probably because I was in WDs from heroin.
I've used it every day since then and increased my dose daily and never felt any effects.

Methadone is really not a recreational drug and I find it ridiculous it use it as such. It can also be dangerous, especially when mixed with benzos, alcohol, or other opiates.
It is a great maintenance drug though and has saved many lives.

^thats not true. I started at 30mg and got buzzed off of that. After being on that dosage for two months I could take an extra 30 and be out of my mind high. Now I'm at fifty and if I double my dose I'll still get incredibly stoned. Methadone really only 'blocks' at dosages of ~70mg and up, or at least thats been my experience. Other than that though, using methadone recreationally is very dangerous as it does build up in your system.

So it finally kicked in about 2 and a half hours later and the buzz was amazing opiate that was slightly trippy, and buddy idk what your talking about everyday i took it i got high as a kite? But thanks for reminding me about rhe dangers i didnt take any today just 150 of tramadol and a gram of gabapentin ill probably be getting oxy 30s tonight or tomorrow.
