dutty stains

Helped move a mate into a new room yesterday, carpet looked horrific was hard and clumpy so we cleaned it using carpet cleaner + one of them hoover things. It looked amazing when we had done however today he's been complaining about this yellowy stain coming back and stinky out the room something fishy. It's right under where the desk was so i would not be surprised if it was a cum stain.

Anyone had any luck getting cum out of carpets?

Seriously, if it's stinking the room out after all this time then the chances are it's not a cum stain. It could be anything, but it doesn't sound nice.

No idea what it is, but why not try one of the many commercial stain removers manufactured for this very purpose? Failing that, Google is your friend.

If there's a landlord, then it should really be the landlord's problem. They like to keep deposits back for cleaning after all.

I haven't tried cillit bang, thats an idea.
No landlord, he's moving in to au pair this guys house. Was given keys and told to move in etc in this dingy room that was oldest kids bedroom who left for uni last year and since then it just got filled with crap so we had to move that all out (hence my involvement). It didn't smell until it got wet with the carpet cleaner and stunk up worse when sprayed with deodorant.

cut out the stinky bit and cover the hole with furniture or a mat or with a bit of carpet from somewhere else in the room thats covered by furniture ?

Douse it in petrol and put a match to it. The burning smell will block out any other unwanted odours.

yeah, or just dab a bit of Vicks at the top of your moustache area under each nostril. I believe people do this when entering morgues.

if the carpet is man made you can use diluted bleach to clean that patch. try on a little hidden area first.
