Dumbest question you'll ever see...

I'd like to believe that this is a community where there, "are no dumb questions." But this is probably pretty close to crossing that line.

Anyway...

I hear a lot of people say that you can "chew" oxy's. Now first thing that comes to mind is that this is literally what it sounds like... put it in your mouth, crush it between your teeth, and swallow. However, then again I start to think that "chew" is just "slang" for swallow whole, and that you shouldn't literally chew oxy's.

Which is it?

Definately chew them, taking Oxycontins whole is shit. If you have oxy instant release or roxy's though you can take them whole, i'd still break them in half though. If you take a 80mg Oxycontin without chewing it or breaking it then it will release 80 mg over a period of i think 12 hours. Maybe 8. So it doesn't really hit you if you take it whole.

What they said - yeah, chew it and swallow. I prefer to suck on it for a while, then swallow. (Ahhh Christ! Did I just say that???)

And you are right, there are NO DUMB questions on Bluelight...

...but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

There's no point in chewing it. Crush it up and put it in a rolling paper or toilet paper and swallow it. Chewing it will just leave a disgusting chemical taste in your mouth.

Flo-Rida, for someone who does multiple 30mg oxy's a day, based on your recent threads, you don't seem to know much about your drug of choice.

Sounds like to me that your just a kid, trying to have fun. However, I feel like you don't have the proper knowledge to use properly, and I am not sure you are aware of all the risks of addiction and such. I suggest checking out the oxy mega-thread in the Other Drugs forum. Give you a lot of valuable knowledge. Like getting out of the habit now, before it gets much, much worse.

A kid? I'm 23, married, and I have a 19-month old son. Might be young to you, but definitely not a kid.

I'm not proud of it but I've been doing oxy for over 1 1/2 years and I've NEVER upped my dose to more than 1 snorted at a time. Just because I don't browse drug forums constantly or read every article I can on oxy doesn't mean I don't know about it. And don't assume that just because I don't know as much as you, that I don't know anything.

I know oxy's effect on the brain and what to expect from withdrawals and how much of a hell it is and how much money is wasted on this shit. But addiction is addiction plain and simple and until I find the means to quit, I'm stuck.

I recently read in the You Might Be A Junky Thread that if you chew all your pills or take them sublingually you might be a junky.... and I laughed because I rarely just swallow any good pills any more, always take my benzo's sublingually and chew up opiate pills. Then chase with grapefruit juice...

Go to a suboxone doctor when you get to the point that it's a cheaper option than maintaining your oxy habit. Or just quit, but that is easier said than done...

^ unsettled, I assume you live in America? How much does suboxone therapy cost you guys? I'm in Australia and it's fairly cheap here, just curious how it is there. :)

The only dumb thing here is you didn't title your thread "chewing oxys" so other people might be able to benefit from it.

But you can still edit and fix! Go ahead, it will bring you luck...

I'm in Florida, and it really depends on where you go. I have 10 doctors in my 20mile radius, and the prices are all different. The place I go now charges 100$ a vist. First month you see them twice ($200), and every month after it's one visit ($100). By far the cheapest I found, I had some places wanting upwards of $500! No insurance, my subs non generic, run about 8$ a pop. Sounds expensive, but I can get by on one or two a week, and in comparison of what my oxy habit was, $16 a week for subs is a very small drop in the bucket.

*mods edit prices if needed, but i'm not talking illegal street prices, so that may be okay?*
