Dumbest advice/things you've heard related to lifting?

I think the only way being high 'helps' with lifting is that it seemingly distracts me from the exercise (which can also be a bad thing), allowing me to push out a couple of reps I otherwise wouldn't have due to mental failure (either from realising my muscles are in pain, or realising I've done X-reps and subconsciously slacking off/losing focus)

Can't imagine what training stoned is like lol. Seems a bit risky! I've seen guys high on MDMA or meth in the gym before... usually dancing around and checking out their abs in the mirror... looks surreal lol 8(

One time this crazy guy came into the gym and was going around shadow boxing in front of the mirrors, practicing Kung Fu on the hanging handles for the machines, and probably what took the cake was he was trying to do some sort of tricep push-downs with the foot bar for the assisted pull-up machine lol. I don't know what he was on but he got asked to leave lol.

Lol, yeah sounds like he was in a special place all of his own on that occasion :)

I've seen people doing something similar haha. Standing with their back facing the machine, palms on the knee-rest platform thing, pushing it downward as though they were doing dips or some shit. Kinda makes sense, aside from the fact there'd be fuck all resistance (much less than bodyweight given the mechanics) and as a result very many more appropriate and effective alternative movements. Like NORMAL FUCKING DIPS. lol. If you ain't strong enough to manage simple bodyweight dips, you should go back to the simple straight forward exercises instead of your obscure crap ;)

Lol at the foot bar for dips. That is like someone going over to the squat rack and then doing barbell curls.
