Dulled flavors the day after?

So the past couple times I've rolled, the day after when I eat, food just doesn't taste the same. Everything just tastes a little bland, but it usually gets better after that first day. I told my friend about this, and he says it's because I chew on fruity gum while rolling. He says if I just chew minty gum, I should be fine.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Blunted pleasure is a side-effect of ecstasy use. You take pleasure from eating tasty food, right? Well, the brain chemical that rewards you for eating that tasty food is in short supply after you roll.

Doesnt everything feel pretty bland after a brilliant roll - as Cyc says lack of feel good chemicals etc.

Changing your gum will not help with this.

hmm, thats why i give myself good breaks between doing md's, although understand how everyone falls into not doing so. the more you hammer it, the more blander lifes gonna feel in general

It should also be noted that the bruxism (jaw moving, clenching, etc.) can be abrasive on your toungue and mouth in general. The friction can leave your mouth a bit raw which might account for some of your problem. MDxx also has annorexic effects. This can make it so eating, in general, is not as satisfying.

I think it has to do with loss of appetite and losing serotonin. The gum you choose isn't going to affect this. But if you're chewing on your mouth all day and sucking on shit making your mouth more dry, then maybe that could make it worse.

The day after, I don't have much of an appetite and everything tastes bla. I try to eat my favourite foods (just because I feel like I should get something into me) and it tastes like garbage :P. The first time I had M, I didn't eat for like four days afterward. That was a bad decision, it made everything worse. Now I always get a couple fruits for me to eat the day after. Even if that's all, it's something. I just hate eating the day (or two, or three) after.
