but whatever

As HC suggested, the OP is more likely to be worrying about getting money and getting dope.

BTW - she hasn't posted on BL since 12/07 and hasn't checked her email since 3/2/08. Must be pretty busy!

PS - Ishshoes, I hope you are OK.

BD recently started selling rigs in singles at about 20 cents each or so.

Look into butterfly needles if you inject constantly.

Winged infusion sets or butterfly needles are great, esp if you can find a 27 gu needle, but they are expensive and hard to find.

Ive never reused a needle other than when i missed a vein, it's kind of pointless to reload a new rig, you'll end up wasting dope.

i am amazed at the sheer level of unhelpful idiocy in this thread.

he did not ask whether people agree with his needle practices, he asked if anybody knew a way to sharpen needles. dead set there are like 20 posts in this poor guys thread without a single one actually addressing the aim of this thread.

what you should do, is start your post with detailed advice on why re-using sharps is bad practice, so as to keep in the harm reduction attitude of this board. after this disclaimer however, people should actually address the dudes fucking question. because it is quite obvious that he does not care for a dozen fools repeatedly saying not to re-use. he knows this. as it stands, he shouldnt have bothered with the thread in the first place, because its saying nothing he doesnt already know and nobody seems to have even digested his actual question.

so, i will give it a shot.

Firstly mate, you should never re-use needles. its good that you clean them, however nothing will ever come remotely close to actually using a fresh spike.

is there a way that you could not inject until Wednesday? you could snort, or plug your drugs? also, on wednesday, and in all future visits to the exchange, try to make sure you'll have enough fresh spikes. having more then u need is a lot better then having less. remember that.

However, if you really really must, then you could try a piece of steel wool or something? theres not many options for such a delicate instrument. also try and minimise the number of shots your doing, as each time it pierces your skin its getting blunter. and if u MUST do this, then make sure u keep disinfecting the spikes after every use.

stay safe bro

Dude, you are so on (pun not intended) point. I see so much "harm reduction" on this site in the name of being PC (if there is such a thing is un-abashed, wreckless drug usage) that it makes me ill. A majority of people who come on here asking questions like this get bashed to hell, even though a majority of the people who respond/flame them have personally been there and back themselves. It must really be nice to pretend online you've never done something you knew wasn't good, but did it anyway to get high! HEAVEN FORBID DRUG USERS MAKE AN UN-PC DECISION! Seriously man, you rock... more people like you should be mod's.

Nobody knows if this OP lives miles away from a town where they can buy new points, or can go to a needle exchange, nobody knows if they expected points and are sick as hell with a fat bag of dope in their hands. Stop being a bunch of fucking saints who have never heard/seen/spoke no evil, and answer his/her question with the best of your knowledge. Then (or even before) post your disclaimer. Fuck me, all of you hypocrites have been at this point (if you've used over any significant amount of time) yourselves... you're not fooling me for fuck's sake.

kind of ironic?

old question that's been answered.

i'm gonna be a sheep and say get new sharps. if you can't get new needles, choose another route of taking it.

i've re-used needles before and it landed me nothing but a nice track mark and relatively sore arm.

My point was why preach to the guy about how he should use new needles every time. Obviously if he had a choice he would. He is in a bind and is asking for help. He didn't ask if he should be using old needles, I'm sure he knows it isnt good, but if he is going to use them anyways, we might as well try to reduce the harm done to him

I don't mean that you were preaching.

Sorry if the person I originally quoted was just trying to help, I get a little touchy when I think people are acting all high and mighty.

Let sleeping dogs lie. :|

Story: There was a thread recently where a guy was asking about whether bleach killed Hep C. I pointed him in the direction of research showing that there are doubts about whether it does outside of laboratory conditions, and as most OD'ers know Hep C can survive outside the body much longer then HIV. The poster revealed that he had injected with an old needle that his Hep C infected friend had used before; he had used bleach to clean out the needle, and he began freaking out about contracting the disease.

I asked him why he didn't use fresh rigs, and he explained that he doesn't know when he's going to score and when he does he can't be bothered to get new needles just for the rare occasion and so shares. 8)

Moral of the story: If you are going to be injecting, it's a good idea to perhaps buy clean needles and other supplies in bulk and stock them.

Absolutely agreed. Of course when your spiking dope and on the regular it doesnt always happen that way and most of us know it.

I've re-used needles over and over and over so many times. I mean maybe 20 times for one needle. I just recently found out how bad it was and from looking at that picture above of the needles. I'm deff going to try to have more needles in hand. It's just that where I'm from it's hard to buy them. All the pharmacies ask all these questions and what not.

Online medical supply sites. There should be a sticky about this or something...

This may be a clue in the grand mystery of why dull needles hurt:

Dude, I hope you never know what it is to have a needle break-off. For real, hold off.
