Dry Season

Where abouts are you guys in the east coast? Most people probably don't want to give their exact location, but in a round a bout sort a way lol.

Recless..I'm about 45 mins to 1 hr from Danbury CT. ..you close to there?

That's funny, because where I live Christmas time is around the best time the sticky is around. Indoor herb is always available 365, and so is schwag. If you think it's dry find a new connect, or better find 3.

Theirs a dry season? Since when? Is a dry season just having a hard time finding weed? If that's the case theirs never a dry season here in canada (: only top quality buds and hash.

Find better connections. You can find excellent herb at any time of the year even if you're on the east coast. It all depends on who you know.

So really, it's all about who you know.

Definitely this.

In Western NY, things tend to get kinda dry in the summer, and I'm not quite sure what the reasoning is...and often some of the better connections are out of the area during the summer as well. In NYC, I don't think I've ever encountered things being "dry"...plus, this would only affect you if you get outdoors normally, which I don't.

Danbury's actually about an hour and a half away from me, all the way on the other side of the state, I'm eastern CT. Even so, it's not like out west where you can drive 8 hours and still be in the same state

I'm posting this for historical reference regarding CA. I grew up in Northern CA, the Bay Area in particular. As I've posted in previous threads throughout the mid to late 80s and into the early 90s, there was always a "dry season" that started around the beginning to middle of Aug and ran to the beginning to middle of september. For the other 11 months of the year we had a choice, kind green bud (KGB) most often probaly grown outdoors in the great outdoor regions of Northern CA and Southern Oregon. The mid grade weed was thai bud in its various incarnations (Fruity Thai (Juicy Fruit)), Golden Thai, Chocolate Thai, "Mint Chocolate Thai," Buddah Thai (reputed to be laced with opium but I never bought that- didn't pin my pupills.) During this time their was a transition from outdoor to indoor grow ops thanks in a large part to Operation Green Harvest, a joint venture between federal and state authorities to eradicate Cannabis cultivation. Still alot was being grown outdoors as places in Humboldt County (around Garberville, ect...), Mendocino, Sonoma, Marin, Santa Cruz Mountains, Big Sur, provided the ideal outdoor growing conditions (photo period, soil, climate, and in Humboldt in particular, had a long history of growing and selective breeding. Please refer to my thread The relationship between outdoor conditions, varietals, and the finnnnished product. Green Harvest sent alot of growers indoors and south to the Santa Barbara Mountains were there was less heat. An anologous eradication program called "operation green merchant" targeted the Hawaiian Islands.

Back on track, during the dry season, if one was lucky enough to find buds it was usually "home grown". When I moved to San Diego for the first time in the early 90s I realized that home grown was poor quality seedy schwag from mexico, which Southern California was swimming in- sold at an inflated price. Moving down to San Diego mexican scwag was the only thing around although much cheaper than what we were paying up north. During the season, I would say it was 60-75% kind green, 20% thai, and the rest scwag. San Diego was 80-90% scwag and about 10%-20% green. Apparently, there was buds being cultivated here, the legendary strain California Orange originated in Southern CA if I'm not mistaken. There was a minor drought in aug but it wasn't a lack of availability as much as modest improvements in the quality and availabilty of swag. Starting in the late 90s and when I moved back to San Diego in 04' there was alot of kind bud, medicinal and other wise was easy to find in Southern CA. From 05'-08' I mostly smoked kind, got mids a few times, and smoked swag once or twice- which had seemed to have improved a little bit.

In 07' In Hawaii I got some buds at an exorbitant price. Smoking I was disappointed- they were mids at best. Some locals I partied with on the North Shore of oahu said that buds were being imported from the mainland. On my last trip to maui a few weeks ago- I didn't get any buds but the word was that Island cultivation was up significantly.

I'm 45 minutes outside of Philadelphia.

I never run out of weed and I live in Pennsylvania. I get good shit like purple haze, durban poison, sour diesel ect. I know a good dealer though and he has some exclusive shit from this dude he met at his job. I'm having kind of a dry patch now but only because I don't have a car and don't feel like buying from dealers around me because I don't want some whack ass weed.

I use to live in torrington, ct but I still go up there for holidays and summer.

Never seen it dry of the weed I smoke, Indoor high grade, from family and close family friends that grow year round, harvets every month of nuggs, always killer shit, various strains, and mid grade outdoor shit is also rarely dry in Memphis and the surrounding areas, being as far south a Memphis is, compared to Penn,,NY,etc.. the winters are a lot shorter and the grow season outdoors is longer, but we can always get some mid grade BC beasters or whatever it's called..lol..I do not smoke Mexican weed, so I never worry about busts there, I do have a few friends in Southern Florida and New Orleans area that get good Jamaican outdoor mid grade sinsemilla year round, or some Hawaiian Killer Bud..lol.

looks like some parts are going to be extra dry

biggest pot bust in mexico 105 tons

One thing that's reliable is mexican weed. I've never seen any change whatsoever in the availability or price of mexican weed. 105 tons ain't shit.

Austin's never dry, most places in Texas aren't because schwag is pretty much always available. In most cities (Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas for sure) chronic is also always available, no dry season.

It really comes down to connects, but good dealers should always have weed.

There is always a dry season for weight around these months but since I only buy ounces for personal use now I don't think there is ever a time I can't find one.

I dont know, Im close to the philly area but I can always get the real good name brand strains I think it has to deal with more about the people you know and not the area, becuase weed is always guarnteed money.

Now Ecastay thats a whole other story.
