Hello,

I was wondering if someone had an experience with a drug that lets you see things as they are

for me, salvia does this, not the initial trip, but right after the trip, i often lay there, thinking....wow, this is so true !

it feels like it brings you down to earth, that the experience teaches you things that may seem very obvious.. but that you somehow, never realised before

I know salvia can make you feel dysphoric and for me, that helps
Not that i would take any drug with possible dysporic effects, anti psychotics or anti cholinergics don't seem good 'teachers' to me :)
But i do think that many people have learned many things, about themselves and others and the world, when they had a hard time !

So,that's why i think this is very interesting,

oh yes, and ibogaine might be another such drug

The afterglow of 5-MeO-DMT. After the trip I feel totally renewed and "back to earth". The trip itself though is everything but down to earth...

Cannabis, Mushrooms, LSD & LSA. But typically I'm very down to Earth on a sober basis.

ooh well, i'm sorry, perhaps it would have been better placed under psychedelic drugs

yeah mushrooms work pretty well for me too, altough last time i saw the goddess of love when i was tripping, she didn't seem to talk nonsense :)

LSA and cannabis don't have that effect on me though

5 meo DMT seems interesting

perhaps euphoriants work better for you,

2C-I gave me a lot of insights too, but in an euphoric state

a drug to see things as they are? drugs alter perception generally; medications are made for those who need something to see things as they are. maybe im misreading the question.

i find i see things best the way to see things the way they are w/ no drugs.. maybe some pot and a low dose amp or a threshold dose of L. for enhancement .idk man..

not sure i fully comprehend what you mean

well, in fact we are always on drugs, aren't we? even if they endogenic and probably less powerful, but i think we are certainly influenced by them in ways that are not always that obvious, exactly because they feel so natural.

i noticed, in myself, for example, some weird behaviour that seems to be linked with reward
these little mannerisms, that many people have to some extent, that provide them with a short term good feeling. we might have an excuse for such mannerisms but probably, it's mainly an excuse

i think that by growing up, we have learned a lot but also have mislearned a lot and i'm sure there are many ways to reach a better image of reality

but you are right, if under the influence of a drug, our perception is probably altered more then if we were not

but the hours and days after the experience, i sometimes feel renewed

Mushrooms are the main one that stands out for me for having an 'earthy' feeling with psychedelics. The likes of acid seem to be much more about parallel universes and what is beyond what we know.

You know whats funny I used to love doing DXM for outer body experiences....I would love to float in the infinitude of space, the feeling of being nothing but everything at the same time. Then one day I started getting real sick if I tried to let myself go like that....like I was literally drunk and would spin instead of take off. Crazy as it sounds it was like I was not allowed admittance while I had problems here on earth. So I would focus on that and be ok. This always helps me think differently or in a different way, and I will not go to sleep until I think of a good solution. It wont be days or anything it may be all night tho. I just lay in bed or fuck with the computer all night and think. Blunts help keep me a little more down too. The most profound ideas, rationalizations, realizations etc. have come while on DXM.

I find that a 30-40 mg dose of methoxetamine acts as sort of an ego-buster for me. During the trip, I'll sometimes start thinking about ways that I should improve my life or help out others that I owe something to.

id go for mushrooms as well, following the trip i have a very confident, relaxed, state of mind, i feel more focused and "myself". the same i can say for some synthetic tryptamines, like 4aco mipt.

as a complete opposite, i find most stims to be leaving me with a feeling of "that is what it is supposed to be like, now im stuck like this".

That just sounds like tolerance to me. I had similar feelings of not being allowed admittance to that perfect world in my head when my dissociative tolerance raised to a point that (what I thought were) reasonable increases upon my normal dosages remained ineffective at getting me where I wanted. Taking longer breaks between uses and more importantly significantly ramping up the dosages worked well for me (was 4-meo-pcp rather than DXM though).

As to the OP's question, I don't really believe in perceiving things more realistically, different states of consciousness are merely different ways of interpreting the vast amounts of data that make up reality, and there's no way for us to ever get a complete picture of it. All narratives we construct are inherently unreliable.

If you're merely talking about the subjective feeling of seeing things as they truly are, psychedelics and dissociatives definitely produce that feeling the most reliably and intensely of all drugs I've tried IME. It can be either a positive or negative thing.
