Hi,

I am a producer with National Geographic and am currently working on season 4 of the critically acclaimed 'Drugs Inc', a series that gives a 360 degree view of how the drug trade works in major US cities. We are coming to film in Phoenix during the month of May (2013) and I am looking to get in contact with users, dealers, traffickers and anyone else involved in the game who would be interested in sharing their story.

The purpose of such material within the film would be to give the viewers a genuine first-person insight into how the drugs industry is run, from a personal perspective of someone directly involved.

All illegal drugs are of interest to us but particularly cocaine, heroin, meth and marijuana.

If you are unfamiliar with the show and would like to find out more about it please feel free to watch a few of the episodes we made last season:

Thanks a lot in advance and I look forward to hearing from you!

Do a Dallas/Ft. Worth show dammit!!!!!! There is a great drug scene there. At least somewhere in Texas for fuck's sake.

^places like NyC, LA, SF, always get all the hype. Do rare cities, like this last season, Anchorage, Alaska was a great choice, AS was Puerto Rico!! Do unique cities, and of alll the cities in Texas, you Drugs Inc people just HAD to pick houston eh? Austin would have been better, or a border town like El Paso, lost of drugs and violence for your viewers there, but since I'm from Dallas area, I am just biased, i think it would be awesome to see all the different drugs and parts of town the show has to bring, hell, maybe I'd see someone I know on there lol.

^B-more/bodymore would be great compared to most, but the HBO tv series ''The Wire'' I think did it's fair share of showing the baltimore drug scene very fucking well :P

A fictional TV drama and a documentary are entirely different beasts, despite the realism the TV drama may contain. (Omar being based on a real person, etc)

I didn't know there was a Houston one, I guess it hasn't premiered yet. DFW would be pretty interesting. All the obvious areas are too similar and predictable

Of course, but like I said, that TV series did a good job of portraying the drug scene in Baltimore, probably more than any other show has before, so far.

If there was some gay black dude holding up dealers with a sawed off double barrel shotgun, everyone would know about it lol. While i agree the wire did a great job of portraying life in bmore (espp the school systems) there is more to it than heroinn and homicides.

yeah im sure there's plenty of crack too youre right

also this thread on that forum is all opinion but I found it funny to read

New York is a much louder and self-promoting version of Philadelphia.

Well, most of the stuff, other than the police procedural, was in the ghetto, mainly west Baltimore, other than season 2 which focused on the ports and I think southeast Baltimore? Of course there is more to Baltimore than just that, but not to much in that part of town I'd imagine, just like certain parts of town where I live, and it wasn't only about dope, it was about coke too, which they mentioned almost as much as dope.

It's really impressive that you guys get drug dealers to talk on camera!

Narrator:Carlos is a high ranking member of a large Mexican drug cartel

Cut to a ratty kitchen with a guy wearing a ski mask.....

"It's becoming harder and harder to get the drugs over the border, they keep finding the stash spots in all the vehicles coming over. So now, we've been hiring actual superheroes to fly the kilos over the border"

Cut back to ratty kitchen:

Narrator: "Although Carlos is a high ranking member of the cartel, he breaks the cocaine down into 10 dollar bags for maximum profit and washes dishes at Ruby Tuesday's when business is slow..."

;)

Lmao...thats what i think a lot of times when i watch these kind of shows. Like the chicago one the dude is showing off a "kilo" of dope wrapped in black electricians tape. Maybe its different in chi, but around here if you have the ability to actually source and buy a kilo, dude aint going to be showing the world and sure as hell not going to be selling qtys in less than hundreds of grams.

That episode where the bloke in colombia knocks up a key of hi-grade coke in a few minutes was class, though...

Those "high level players" they always find and are so willing to show off drugs, I bet they're nothing more than paid extras.

If you havn't done new orleans.. little children peddle crack on bourbon street every night.. like almost to little young to talk. would love to see that brought to light.. also how the cops are profiting from the drug game through the private prison system down there.. as you already know there are lots and lots of ways to make mony of the drug game..
