Drugs in the workplace (Merged)

i worked as a cookie baker for a a few months during the last summer, i did dope every single day sevral times a day to help make the day go by quicker and make my self feel better and not be sick, eventually i screwed up and burnt too many batchs of cookies due to biewng high on dope and stoned as was fired, A word of advice if your gonna use drugs at work maek it a ocasiional habit sionce if you satrt to do it everyday you will get screwed in the end
 
i'm a musician and i'm always high on something. i have a part-time position at a private university teaching music and get high on campus. usually in the car if it's smoking weed..or eat a brownie if i'm lucky. i've been on acid a few times at work.. which was pretty interesting. good thing my friend's place was just down the street.

i work at some chinese food restraunt(do dishes and some prep cooking) once a month or so i do a few lines of blow to take the edge off slow days and to finish mopping the floor quicker.

done a bump of k with my buddy i work with a couple times too, not recommened though, almost dropped a full tray of glasses haha, my boss is oblivious, im sure he knows i do drugs though, iv had the same runny nose the whole 2 years i have worked for him haha
 
i used to shoot dope in the bathroom at work every day all day long. i would prep my shots in the morning, roll into work an hour late, go to the bathroom like 5-6 times a day and be in there for like 30 minutes searching for a vein. sometimes i would even cook the dope in the bathroom (even if someone was in there). it's actually kinda sad looking back on it. eventually they fired me for "sleeping" on the job. i was always nodding out at my desk. i had a good job that supplied my habit pretty comfortably so it was a good thing when I lost it because i was doing so goddamn much.
 
Gawd it scares me to think of how much I used to take at work. When I was a newspaper reporter, I'd pop 100mg oxy or hydrocodone at a time, go out and do an interview, take a photo and write a story about it. Honestly, I don't remember any of my interviews because I was so high. The pills just gave me so much energy and made my nagging shyness disappear. There were times where I did nod off right in front of my senior metro editor, but he never said anything about it. I got busted for marijuana and of course they found out about it but never approached me about it (a co-worker ratted me out, he's the one who checks the jail commitals). I'd never smoke weed before work. That's insane. You just feel so paranoid and time goes by so slowly. When I was driving moving trucks (Budget, UHaul), my friend and I would take ultram and coffee in the morning with a benzo and drive all day. That was fun. Now I just count money for a department store and balance the books. I use 2mg klonopin in the morning and feel fine (a lot less pressure with fuckin' bitch of a boss). It helps me focus.
 
When I was a grad student working in a lab- I'd always come in blazed outta my mind. That made all the repetitive experiments bearable! I would do all my calculations high as hell and even took a final exam high as well. I think I have some form of ADD and for some reason pot always helped and made me hyperfocused.

i always say the same thing. i have ADD and pretty much any downer (in low doses) helps me focus. i think it has something to do with all the extra stimulation i need in order to function..if that makes any sense.

of course amphetamines help too...

god, i could handle shooting dope at work but if i smoked pot i could hardly function. my brain would be all over the place and i would lose track of time and get paranoid or ramble about nonsense for hours. everyone could ALWAYS tell if i was stoned.
 
used at work quite a few times.

customer service at a call center for one of aus' major telco's :
3 days out of any given week i'd snort speed in the toilet.
once every so often i'd go for coke instead.


customer service at a different call center:
i went to a morning club, thinking i started work at 4pm that afternoon. gets to 11am. i'm bored. double drop some pills... then i call work to confirm my start time. started at 12.
started peaking just as i started work. major suck

but mostly i wouldnt touch anything other than speed or ice at work.

and there was once they made me work on new years eve, while sitting in the office waiting for my friend to finish so we can party. i decided i'd munch down on 3 tabs of lsd.

but i would never actually work on acid, working 2 days after a high dose trip is bad enough.


drug of choice at work... 7am start, monday morning. big weekend.... it's caffeine overload. 4 no doz washed down with a big can of red bull.. usually gets me in the swing of things.
 
Projectionist at small art theatre, we used to run old 16mm films. We would blaze in-between reel changes. We screwed up reel changes a few times but the highlight was when we switched up reels 2 & 3 of Roman Polanski's "Knife in the Water". The theatre was packed (150-200 ppl), and no one noticed because the film's so obtuse anyway.

We forgot reel changes a bunch of times. We'd be watching the movie baked out of skulls, then all of a sudden the screen was blank because we'd let the reel run right out of the projector. The projectors were ancient so they'd get jammed all the time too, which sometimes ended up in feet and feet of film spooling out onto the floor while we were upstairs in the catwalks getting high.

I liked that job. I'm a designer now and I've been taking opies before and during work for years. Instant motivation and they kill the anxiety that fuels creative blocks.

^ Dude, I told my Psychiatrist that weed helped me focus and she couldn't f'ing believe me. She said she never heard of that. I knew I wasn't the only one....
 
other than going to work the day after i roll.
ive only done opiates and alcohal at work.
but still fun biz. :]
but not as crazy as you cats.

I have done drugs at jobs before, still do, makes the time go by faster. Plus I am the type of person that wants to be high on something all day so if it is at work, that's fine, just so long as I feel good.

worked at mcdonalds as a teen, used to work on addy's and once my manager gave me a few lines of coke to do in the bathroom before a super busy rush hour. Used to smoke pot and crack on my lunchbreak in my car. Pot was much more often, the crack was only if I had something left from the night before (and we all know that's like never)

worked at subway and would come in stoned all the time. workers never really cared, one girl there was cool and I think she was a stoner and one girl was straight edge i tried to stay away from her. I fucked up bad though one time and I had been smoking tons of crack with my friends prior to my shift, went in and tried to work and my hands were just shaking, couldn't make a sub for shit and I looked like a wreck i'm sure. Played it off like i took too much ephedrine, but I think my coworkers knew what was up.

manager at a campus food court I would come in super stoned all the time. thought about trying to smoke in the halls but I was paranoid about cops coming by randomly as they sometimes do. I knew where there were areas not monitored by cams so I could have gotten away with it as I was the only manager on duty many nights but u never know when a campus cop can come by to investigate see how the old food courts doing

now i work at a telemarketing place and its super boring. seems like all the employees are on something bc they don't piss test for hire. I come in stoned all the time, smoke on breaks with friends, and do morphine or other opiates while on the job. Nothing to make me nod real hard, but enough to help me breeze through the day. My connect for opies at the job is addicted as well and comes in everday on some sort of dose and sometimes on heroin, he would just be noddin out so bad i was so suprised he never got caught but hes been there like 2 1/2 yrs to my 8-9 months.
 
^Agreed. Although the only drug I have done and will do at work, is coke. Probably would do speed too. Helps keep me focused and working hard.
