Hey guys, I love drugs, I love women.

My problem is, I'm moving to Egypt from New Zealand.

Is it possible to get drugs there and not get shot? - i hear they dont have acid on that side of the world :(

And will i get shot if i pull my "sleep with lots of chicks" thing i do here?

(not asking for hookups, just asking for peace of mind. because if i dont get drugs there, ill come back haha)

thanks, Because no one will honestly tell you what you need to know about this sort of stuff. Its almost taboo to talk about.

Drugs arn't even that big a deal, I just want to know what im getting into by moving to egypt.

with this attitude I'm sure nothing could possibly go wrong in a country like Egypt

In all seriousness tho I'd just be very careful with even smoking pot in that country

haha wow, that sounded totally different when i read it back to myself.
No i mean, drugs arn't a big deal in general (well, thats my westernised view)

But i want to know what the situation is like in Egypt before i even think about getting into any of it. I dont want to get stabbed for a baggy of weed.

Pretty harsh I'd imagine, but I've no source for that only the experience of going as far a field as Turkey and Greece. Was easy to score but there was a lot of bad gear knocking about.

well ive been to egypt loads of times at the pharmacy you can get codiene and tramadol very easy without prescription the tramadol is called tremadol as in the french term plus small amounts of benzos as most people cant afford to go to doctors in the capital before revolution street drugs were easily available but you had to know the right people as there is alot of plain clothes police about and egyptians who dont have a visa to work with foreign people tend to be nervous with you and you could be easily ripped off lots of weed about and in the capital esp around the egyptian zoo is were alot of homeless street people hang out and there is a massive heroin market there but if you dont speak arabic and look different you wont be paying the price the street kids pay as far as coke ive never seen it
egypt is an amazing place the capital is a very dirty place but alxeandria and luxour are very beautiful if you go to the corniche in the capital or alxeandria the corniche is the seafront or in the capital the nile riverfront just sit down on a seat and within minutes you will be pestered to buy anything from sex to drugs as people want your money but be very wary as if you express a interest in drugs they will more likely say they can get you what you want and its a set up for the police like in thialand be safe i know i ended up in the cells for few days due to this

im leaving for egypt tonight as well

staying in sharm el sheikh, hope to get some nice local hash when i am there

hope i dont get arrested or set up like i did while in brazil

A lot of young people can help you get hash or even weed, as a foreigner. Harder stuff are all there but you need to know the right people, most dealers are on mobiles now, different than 80's and 90's where people used to stand in lines in specific areas to get their drugs, each line for each drug :)
Anyways, once you've settled and get to know people (things will be easier)
E's and blow are around but a little expensive (not for a foreigner with the exchange rate) Acid is really non-existent, back in the days, we had to know a friend who was getting it from abroad or even get it myself.

Pharmacies have Tramadol 50mg called Tramal (not all pharma's, while in black market there are 200 mg's called Contramal XX and Tramandine, also Trama SR 100mg) Others have Clonazepam, Xanax, Somadril (a great muscle relaxant)

Sharm el Sheikh in Sinai is a different story, people are more open and for the sake of tourism they allow (not by law of course) weed and hash, but i mean everyone knows that Israelis cross the borders to Sinai to "enjoy" a few days on the beach as well as Egyptian youth who go there to also peacefully enjoy their holidays sometimes. Bedouins there control it all, and the government and them have a sort of agreement, the mountains are almost all theirs with their AK47 and their drugs while the paved road and the beaches on the other side are the police's playground.
Enjoy it everyone who's going, there has been a revolution less than 1 month ago if you haven't heard, and people are optimistic and looking for a brighter future, rather than that oppressed regime for the past 30 to 50 years.

A last note, just be careful like anywhere else in the world, if u manage to get smoke or anything else, hide it on you properly, just universal rules and you'll be just fine.

Last thing, your question about girls, you have to respect the culture, yes a lot of veiled girls around who won't talk to strangers trying to pick them up in the street, the other minority who wear bikinis in the Red Sea and the North Coast and drink booze and love blow... many of those travel a lot or have been to Uni's abroad. A lot in between of course, i hope i presented the image well.
So pretty much all is there, but not very publicly and you have to know the right people to really enjoy it.

Hope my 2 cents were useful, Enjoy this magical land :)

Maxiton Forte an amphetamine that had been a Rx but is still sold on the streets under that name as a result. Captagon may be replacing it. I know there is a big hash scene (sadat was a hash conoisseur) both local and sourced from lebenaon and Morrocco. Heard there is an opium scene, and some heroin/ coke abuse. But hash is the big thing.

But as far as enforcement I would be careful like others said- but in the wake of a revolution, the police apparatus is probably proccupied with other things.
Never been there so can't give a first hand report. It be cool if you wrote your experience in foreign drug scenes or as a trip report.

not to worry, you won't get shot.

hash is plentiful but what is readily available varies in quality and tends to be poor or laced with one of many possible chemicals. good quality lebanese and moroccan hash are available but on a much smaller scale.

weed is called bango and its real bad, avoid unless its sinai weed.
coke is regularly available in a range of quality, E comes and goes and acid on occasion. other pharmaceuticals such as tramadol and benzos are widely available.

as for girls, as long as you are engaging with other expats or egyptians from a certain social background, there is no need to worry, but keep in mind that things are more conservative in general and that meeting girls doesn't go about the same way

if you need any more info from a local's perspective, feel free to ask questions. good luck :)

If i were you i would just forget about leading a drug taking life , especially in Egypt

you get caught mate , you are FUCKED ...

and here is one of them times that END OF applies cos it will be if u end up in one of their jails

unless you can get RC's over there i wouldnt bother , i would be too fucking scared of getting caught in a place like that

Hash will be everywhere & very easy to acquire I'd imagine - also Egypt is one of the more liberal Islamic countries so I doubt it's massively taboo or anything, certainly it wasn't in Morocco

No-one is incorruptible, least of all police in 3rd world countries...if you're caught slip them a fiver (or equivalent) & you'll be fine

ha ha true, we were in the museum where you are not allowed to take photos of the mask ,, man i forget the name of it tutum king or something .. u know who i mean

anyway this security guy pulls my dad aside and tells him to switch off the flash and pulls a chair over for him to stand over the crowd to take a photo , so my dad only has certain notes on him and th least he had was worth something like a fiver , the gaurd gets all pissy and asks him for more, the only other note he had was worth something like £50 . my dad was like yeah right get notted xD

Seriously, in poor/corrupt countries the only observable role of the police is to take money from people in exchange for not arresting them...it's kinda funny & sad at the same from the perspective of a westerner. I witnessed this in Uganda and Morocco so don't imagine Egypt's much different. If they threaten to arrest you for attempted bribery, chances are they're just fishing for a larger bribe :p

I don't recommend anyone take my advice though, just use your intuition & ask the locals what's up.

hey

hey im Egyptian and i live in Cairo if its about drugs or girls well that stuff aint easy to come by but if you really want to tell me and i might be able to be of assistance, oh and be aware that if your staying in the sinai peninsula you have to respect the Bedouins as most of them are very conservative and would be offended if they see you trying to get with any of there women and about the drugs well , you'll find loads of opium, hash and bango in Egypt but do be careful because the authorities enjoy fucking up drug users.

anyways if you happen to be in Cairo or need any advice just ask me ill be glad to of assistance.
