Drugs & Dreams & Dreams & Drugs (& Probably Dreams too)

^ Disagree. Now you've learnt of the significance of the spider dream, you are more likely to pay attention to the next premonition which might be more serious.

But there was no real significance - it was pure coincidence. Unless you think I have some sort of psychic abilities. Really, dreams and dream interpretation are bullshit.

Really, dreams and dream interpretation are bullshit.

This is the current view of the psychological establishment apparently. Very much fallen out of favour of late. Personally I do think there is quite a lot to be said for dream interpretation. Dreams are pretty clearly the subconscious overheard and can be an intriguing and informative insight into what you know that you don't realise you know. Interpretation is obviously only as good as the interpreter though.

Mmh I don't think so...I think all the Freudian interpretations and stuff are bullshit but you can usually get more obvious stuff out of your dreams. It's just disguised a bit. It makes sense really, since dreams are a way for us to 'recycle' memories and for our bodies to go over and process recent events.

Yeah but the 'subconscious' isn't necessarily a very important voice to be listening to either. Why do some dreams have significance while others don't? For instance, you could take that dream I had about the spiders as a premonition but what about the dream I had last night in which my garden was full of wild animals and there was a muslim dog in my garage?!

^ This.

And out of curiousity, has anyone ever had the same dream as someone else at the same time? One night I was on DXM and a friend of mine, who was not on DXM and was nowhere near me, had the exact same dream as me.

I didn't say the subconscious was especially important to listen to. But it does sometimes have insights not easily available to your conscious mind. As to why some dreams have significance whilst others (seemingly) have none, does it matter? Take the good stuff and ignore the dross. Or be entertained by it. Or revolted. Or bemused. But why not appreciate the useful ones? Kinda seems like a baby/bathwater scenario to me.

Last night I dreamt I was about to use in the shower (:?) at student halls when this guy from my course knocked on the shower door...I can't remember exactly why, he wanted to ask me something I think, but obviously I freaked out because well I was there with my drugs. Apparently the fact that he was interrupting me in the shower was fine. I've never even spoken to him, I've just noticed him because he has insanely curly blonde hair...
Raas? =D

*Sigh* Last one... and then I'm charging.

Was the strange interruption in the shower seen, in the dream, as intrusive and unfriendly? or was it seen as friendly and acceptable?

Mmh...it was more on the friendly and acceptable side. I can't remember why he interrupted or what he wanted, but I do know he was asking a question and also that he was concerned about something. I just felt confused and worried.

Just awoke (well, an hour or so ago) to another one, this one makes sense to me:

In the dream I wake up safe in the knowledge that a very cute and lovely lass told me that she was into me the night before, but then she's displaying signs that she's now into one of my mates who is there (there's a couple of us). I try roll a cig and I just can't, it comes undone, falls apart, woke toke etc. etc.
Anyhoo - I then ask said lass what's going on and why has she changed her mind.
Then simultaneously she and said mate both give the reason but I don't hear it properly - Then I wake up :|

It was an upsetting dream and now the sun's shining and it's all lush out but I just want to lie in my tomb and watch crap on telly in silence.

Look at Shambles dream, the girl resembles 100% Compassion.

When he's spitting out foam and hair from his mouth, this could be percieved as disgusting, embarrassing or shocking. The girl displays none of these emotions, merely comments that it looks "kinda cool". Disgust and embarrassment towards him, aren't compatible with her caring spirit.

Likewise, being invaded in a shower could be perceived as embarrassing, shocking and intrusive. Yet, no recognition of this is shown by the boy. He is innocent, honest and open.

In the face of this honest relationship, you have drugs on you. You are fearsome, worried and shy.

The presence of the drugs clashes with the innocent relationship.

The dream is drawing emphasis towards the dark, "seedy" nature associated with drugs, as it arouses fear in face of the honest boy.

It could also be taken as a warning, that involvement with drugs may embarrass the relationships you form with other students at University.

Mmh okay that's kinda what I was thinking. So basically it's about drugs ruining what could otherwise be an innocent and honest relationship?
My life certainly fits the 'doing drugs will mess up your relationships with other students' thing.
Thanks raas :D

I just had the most wonderful dream - my parents were helping me move to London to go back to uni next year, although for some reason everyone in the dream was hispanic (not that race matters, was just a little odd for London). Also the place looked like a village kinda. Anyway, we were all walking in some sort of shopping center when we see a line with a little boy handing things out at the end of it. We join the line to see what the fuss is about, he hands me a cup and pops a few ecstasy pills in it. My parents see it and say nothing, but I could sense they didn't mind at all, and were almost excited for me. I ask him if he knows someone from whom I could get more and he points me to a guy's office.
At this point I remember we had an issue because the man only spoke spanish and none of us do. But anyway we managed, and the guy takes out two grams of aMT and a few tabs of LSD and props them on the table for me. I ask my parents if they'll buy them for me and take the money out of my food money for the next month (I'm 19 so they still help me out financially). They're fine with that. I was so excited.
...Then I woke up, drugless :|

Such a weird dream though, my parents are really anti-drug. Gonna have to think about that one.

I dunno, quite a lot could be made of that dream, don't you think?

I often get drugrelated dreams post-drug use or in anticipation of future drug use. I tend to feel 'high' in dreams I have days after using MDMA (although I don't feel like actually being on it) and sometimes in the days before using a substance I dream about being on it. The effects I feel in dreams are never on target though. In a dream two days ago I was on 2c-b and everything that moved turned into black concentric spinning shapes.
I never take anything that I experience in dreams to actually mean something, what is the reason behind quite a few people here doing just that?

This dream is alluding to an acute sexual desire for Taiwan girls.

drug dreams

I had a dream last night where I ate a bunch of mushrooms (which I've never actually taken before) and had a load of ketamine. I remember snorting proper k hole sized lines and only getting a bit of a buzz from it, as if I'd just done a few bumps.

Anyway have you ever had any interesting dreams about drugs/ drug taking? I seem to have them fairly often.
