Is there something out there I can take before important/stressful events, like a big meeting per say, that will still let me stay sharp but decrease some of the anxiety/stress?

Alcohol or benzos come to mind, but not sure how clear my cognition will be.

Well, low dose benzos would probably be quite effective without clouding your thinking too much. Honestly, opiates would work excellently as they do not have impact on cognition and are great anxiolytics (anxiety relievers), but they are EXTREMELY addictive, so you might not want to go there. Amphetamines would also probably work, but in a different way. Amphetamines would make you super-sharp, feel good, and self-confident. However they could make anxiety or stress worse, they could also make it better. Amphetamines are very addictive too, so be careful here.

I tend to not speak as clearly on amphetamines.. stutter more often. I'll consider the opiates, though from past experience I've been a little drowsy with them.

I'd say low dose Xanax may make u alil drowsy but still sharp just not to much or u might forget what happened after it wears off

It seems some Adderall would help. Opiates would too. I would NOT take benzos. I took xanax before a test once and I could not remember any of the material.

Adderall [mixed amphetamine salts] or Dexedrine [dextroamphetamine] with a small amount of benzos or opiates so you're not too socially intense or talkative, but just the right amount of talkativeness since you're in a meeting. I agree with whippa craka, just benzos wouldn't work too well unless you're used to what they do and they work well for you (say, if you have issues with anxiety, then benzos are perfect).

Also, this isn't appropriate for Basic Drug Discussion, this is more along the lines of Drug Culture, which is where I'm sending it :)

I'd go for a low dose of opiates. Not enough to make you drowsy, but enough to give a slight buzz and relax you.

Low dose opiates is what I use in situations like that usually oxycodone or oxymorphone as those two opiates do not sedate me at all I actually get a nice jolt of energy that is very useful.

I'm sure some benzos would help but it would be best for you to get over your nerves naturally. Presentations are always stressfull unless you do them a lot.

drug culture is the wrong forum to ask about the effects of drugs or the best drug to use for a certain task. we aint here to be your drug personal shoppers. moved to bdd.

I would suggest opiates but from your little bit of info you gave I would probably say skip them when going to this event. You will probably be drowsy and it will be more looked upon as what's up with him rather if you were more awake/alert. I would take a small dose of xanax/adderall but if you still can't handle a small dose of adderall then have a small dosage of xanax but skip the opiates.

med dose of adderall or ritalin plus 5mg-10mg vicodin i would not suggest xanax... i find it a little to intoxicating even at low doses its very sedating. maybe a low dose of ativan would work better.

I always avoid coffee before a meeting/presentation. Although i drink a lot of it, i notice that it tends to exacerbate the feelings of anxiety and 'jitteriness' during a stressful situation.
Make sure you eat something good too. A good healthy meal and a contently full stomach can make a very big difference.
