Drugs and NYC

Would like an insight to the partying scene in NYC. Heading there soon - hitting a few clubs ive eyed up online, Cielo to name one.

Curious as to what the scene is like there, whether many party goers take drugs or whether it is as frowned upon like several places ive been to in the states. From my experience through other cities if your hitting a deep house night your bound to see someone having a great time and generally you can join in after meeting a few.

Does anyone live or have experience going out in NYC and how the atmosphere is?

If you take drugs in a commercial club you will get bounced. Giuliani changed the entire face of the city though he never took aim at the drug laws thank G-D. It is still the only place in North Amerrica where possesion of heroin and cocaine is a misdemeanour, as is the sale of cannabis.

The club scene went to shi* with Peter Gatien being hounded. It spread so that all clubs were forced to get inline. NYC used to be fairly bohemian, people selling and using drugs openly but in 1997...poof.
