I like music a lot without drugs but drugs enhance music. IMO it would be..

weed, mdma/mda, lsd and to an extent ketamine esp. if combined with lsd.

In my experience MDMA alone does nothing much for music at all. There have been times when it has appeared really intense when coming up, but I like my perspective of music to change and for it to take on a new form alltogether, rather than to just feel euphoric about listening to it.

Has it affected you in any negative way that you can think of?

No...not right off the bat. It's really the only way I guess it applies to me. I've only ever considered it a positive thing since I've been aware of it. I didn't realize that I had this phenomena until probably a year or a year and a half ago. Most of the music I've written I just went with the flow...it all moved too fast to really "analyze"...then I ended up in rehab, homeless for a good long while...so I had some time to think.
You can go to my music site and tell me what you think of my "visions" if you please...and become my friend! www.myspace.com/thetwighlight

^^im gonna check it out. (to twighlight)

different, but on the same lines...i can 'hear' exactly what my friends talk like, and can hear it in my head if i think about it. its like they are actually talking cause im so familiar w/ their voices. im guessing this is pretty common?? because i can do this sober or not.

Tiesto - Especially with a name like that...you've got some living up to do! GO GET REASON.

Jean - I can do my thing sober as well...it's really strange, huh? I wasn't really AWARE of it until I started using drugs, though.

One time on shrooms I had this gay technofunk song playing for hours.
I often clearly hear my ringtone on my phone but when I look down its not even ringing.

Hydrocodone! I can safely say it made music sound better than LSD or weed ever did. It was hard to concentrate, though, so I would just choose to be baked if I planned on listening to music all day.

LOL

Thank you for making me laugh!

Oh shit, man! The ringtone thing! That really fucks with my head. Ever since meth that's happened to me (been off the shit for nearly 2 years). It was alot worse when I was ON meth, but it still happens. It freaks me out but usually makes me laugh when I realize it's not ringing.

Hmm I get this sometimes when sober. There has to be a noise somewhere though. Most often I hear heavy guitar riffs. :)

LSD full on visuals to the music and makes songs sound kind of different

LSA gives mild visuals to the music and makes it more enjoyable for me.

MDMA makes me want to sing to every song and allows me to turn my iPod volume right up without apparent pain to my ears.

LSD has made music sound unreal for me before even from a 20$ radio, the sound opened up into another dimension.

I also get this while sober...though my 'mind's-ear' tends to create complex rythms more than harmonic tones. This is especially pronounced in the day or two after a rave and even moreso if I was used anything more than weed that night. As soon as the last record spins and the beats finally stop my brain just jumps right in and starts creating various beats and rythms for the next 36-72hrs. The beats are "loud" enough in my head that I have actually danced to my imaginary music when prompted to by one of my friends since she gets a chuckle out of the results of my growing list of weird side effects from drug-induced brain damage.

These "left-over beats" can be kinda annoying when I'm watching a futurama or something the morning after and I can't help bobbing my head to EDM no one else can hear. At least when I haven't been to a rave or used MDMA recently the tunes in my head are "quiet" enough that they don't interfere with anything else I'm doing at the time.

Yeah I do that too... I'll also feel it vibrate in my pocket or my purse when it's not

lol nitrous makes music sound like BT's signature brr-eee-a----k-k--i-nggg----u-u-uuuu-u-p-pppp tones haha.

This is called granular synthesis, and BT certainly doesn't have a monopoly on it, nor was he an innovator with it.

ebola

I think that LSD makes music sound the most emotional and best for me (I'm usually listening to The Beatles or Grateful Dead)

MDMA makes me enjoy the music more, but in a different way than LSD. It's more like I just enjoy the music a lot more, I don't get the full on synaesthesia that I get from drugs like LSD or psilocin.

When I did 35mg of 2C-I orally, that was a GREAT night of listening to music, but I was new to psychedelics at the time. It really made it more vibrant and memorable.

But LSD, hands down. I also like the audio effects I get from 4-AcO-DMT and 4-HO-MiPT.
