You mean synaesthesia?
I've been able to do this with music since I was a child. I started piano when I was 7 and was trained with classical shit, beethoven, mozart, blah. I quit piano when I was 12 to play guitar after I heard a song by The Smashing Pumpkins. I can't explain it. I could never be a music teacher, because my method is guaranteed to make absolutely zero logical sense to anyone else. There would be no way to apply it. But I can see what I hear in my head and transpose it onto synths or guitar or piano no problem.
Do I really have a "condition"?

Yes, that's what I'm talking about! For the life of me I couldn't think of what it was called. Like I said, I wouldn't really consider it a 'condition'. :\

I was watching some news program about it. Maybe calling it a phenomenon would be more appropriate. It sometimes happens with drug use, but can be something that people just naturally do too.

I find it pretty interesting. The people that I remember most clearly were the ones that perceived tastes as shapes. One didn't like a certain food because it was too 'round'.

Has it affected you in any negative way that you can think of?

Neat stuff.:D

pot gives me auditory hallucinations. i'll be like 'where is that song coming from' and realize it's in my head. and i hear bugs/crickets in the middle of winter. if i'm really stoned i'll hear odd noises that don't make much sense (like a weird machine)

real sound is also intensified. i hear things in my backyard like dogs walking through leaves and people talking downstairs that i normally can't hear

Auditory hallucinations were probably my favorite thing about rolling. I'd probably think differently if I was hearing "bad" things but jeez... every time I'd hear something I couldn't help but giggle

I get the music in your mind thing all the time these days.

Usually when im falling asleep or waking up it is so clear.
I write some wicked tunes in my mind lol.
Oddly enough ive also made some terrible shit in my mind but it just keeps playing lol its quite funny actually

Its caused a complete change in the way I view music.
Ive gone from not really enjoying it to absolutly loving it I listen to usic all day long now.
Ive even started messing with a synth and a few programs trying to write something but it will be a long time before it sounds like what I get in my head.

I think this change has had something to do with repeated nights of lsd and psytrance :D

Making music sound great

well i was just reading some post on how ketamine and 2cb make music sound so awesome, i was wondering what other compounds are recommended to make music sound awesome!=D

people are going to tell you to UTFSE
and that's a pretty good idea...

personally;

~the ganj
~mdma
~nitrous

all do the trick.

^^ those are well known, i was very interested to see some reports around of compounds that arent that well know to make music even sound better then mdma

if there is a thread like this i'm srry lol

Because "making music sound great" is so general, subjective, and highly dependent on set and setting, I don't know whether you'll get good answers to your question. Pretty much any psychedelic/empathogenic drug or combination thereof can make the right type of music sound very good in the right setting. For instance, I find that MDMA on its own makes acoustic or classical music sound great, but it doesn't enhance the sound of psytrance by as much.

lol nitrous makes music sound like BT's signature brr-eee-a----k-k--i-nggg----u-u-uuuu-u-p-pppp tones haha.

MDMA hands down, in my opinion, no drug has ever come close for me to feel the music in my head and heart with such concussive force. house and drum and bass, specifically are my favorite combos with MDMA. and that's that. but i have noticed too that DXM can make music more interesting, especially acoustic stuff (folk metal esp). and trance and acid is something everyone should try. another favorite is 2c-b and drum&bass (techstep) as the intensity and intricacy of the tracks was something i never picked up on until hearing them on 2c-b and said WOW (this was in a basement with a friend spinning vinyl so the sound quality was primo) and i was just standing there for an hour sipping on a shitty beer and totally into the layers of the music.

LSD makes music sound the best for me. MDMA makes me more in tune with the music, but it sounds best on lsd.

Unfortunately I have never tried MDMA, but Methylone certainly makes music pretty orgasmic and 4-FMP does as well though to a much lesser extent.

Hydrocodone! I can safely say it made music sound better than LSD or weed ever did. It was hard to concentrate, though, so I would just choose to be baked if I planned on listening to music all day.
