Music for Mushrooms

Im about to embark on a 5 gram shroom trip in 2 hours.I've never taken this much apart from the time I was naive enough to chomp 6 grams completely unaware of the effects.Nowadays I tend to keep it to a reasonable 3.5 but this time I'm really looking for a journey into the mind which is why I've decided to go through with this in complete darkness.I did this about 3 weeks ago with 3.5g and had a hell of a time.It was one of the greatest "spiritual" experiences I've had up to date and I've been waiting ever since on revisiting the variouse dimentions my mind can find under the tuning of the mushrooms magic.

So to the point.

The last time I was listening to some drum and bass on shoutcast radio which was fucking kick ass.All the beats and stelar sounds were all in complete synergy with my throughts and the images going through my mind, it was a drum and bass experience.By the end of the night before passing out I was inventing my own electronic dnb songs in my head experimenting with different sounds along with imagery to reflect the sounds, it was like a fucking music video going on inside my dome where I was both producer and observer.Beautiful

Now I'd like to know what kind of music you guys groove to when your shrooming.I was thinking some sort of soothing chillout ambient psy or something along those lines but I'd also like something along the lines of drum and bass with the wicked evil rushing feel to it.Any suggestions are appreciated:)

Wish me luck:)

Am I the only one who couldn't really focus on music while tripping?? :\

I don't really try to focus on the music, that's why I suggested the bands that I did, because mushrooms can be a very confusing time and this music can be an excellent soundtrack...just like in the movies, the soundtrack goes along with the action, but the characters can't hear it....think on that one for a bit :D

What's not often mentioned in these type of threads is that the best type of music for tripping is that which provides tension and release. Most of the better "tripping albums," in about any music genre, alternate mellow, potentially introspective parts with intense, more climactic ones. The best amount of time between each can vary by taste and dosage. Also, some music which seems very static or slowmoving when sober can reveal all sorts of highs and lows when tripping.

I love 60's pshychedelic normally so obviously I'm going to listen to it on shrooms. Might not be your cup of tea though.

13th Floor Elevators
Quicksilver Messenger Service
Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jimi Hendix(no brainer)
Greatful Dead
Holy Modal Rounders

And a bit of Joe Cocker, Simon and Garfunkel and even a bit of bob dylan. And radiohead although it just depresses some people.

i strongly recommend Phutureprimitive and Space Tribe.

Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin, Pete Namlook, Ambient Temple of Imagination, good ones..

CARCASS

the only music worth SEEING/TOUCHING on mushies

Thats if you can really lay down and go away with the mushies........................................................................................If not just throw on some Concord dawn and go crazy

Entheogenic
Carbon based lifeforms
Shpongle
Younger brother
Coil
John Coltrane - and lots of it!
Chilled progressive house - preferably full mixes that take you on al long, long journey

most music sounds good on shrooms I think. I prefer it when there are djs and a group of people dancing, it gives you an outlet the novel feelings you may be having, and there's something special that is created by the interactions betwen you, the dancefloor and the djs.

If you're at home however I'd highly recommend 'Black Foliage' by the Olivia tremor Control it's basically the soundtrack to a trip. Starts out joyous and uplifting, before slowly disappearing into itself and then reappearing in strange, time-distorted projections. I can't really describe it that well, but it makes perfect sense on a trip... if you can handle the journey that is.
