marijuana - playing is fun and I can play stuff with many different moods

alcohol - the stuff I play always sounds sad

DiPT - everything sounds weird to me, to sober people it sounds dark/evil most the time, or sometimes sad

oxycodone/hydrocodone - I don't like playing random stuff, I try to learn songs from TV, movies, video games, bands, whatever

2C-I or crystal meth - I like playing really fast, I try to play darker stuff but most the time it comes out like a happy children's song or something

mushrooms, 2C-E, or acid - I like playing random/improvised stuff, it sounds good about 60% of the time

I love to play guitar on cocaine and weed but nothing else. The weed really inspires me and gives me so much more creativity and musical insight than when I'm sober. I find weed is better for writing music, not playing stuff you already know. The cocaine just gives me the confidence, energy, and intensity to play pieces I already know very well.

I have been playing guitar for many years. And used to jam back in high school. Although I enjoy playing on psychedelics you cant remeber lyrics or feel your fingers moving up and down the fret board. I think alcohol, meth and opiates make me move skilled player.

Drugs 'n Music

Ok, so i know a lot of you out there must play some instruments. Some of you may even be in a band! And if you put the fact that you are on bluelight + you play music, it only seems right that you would do drugs while playing music. Am I right? Well, i sure know that i like to. I guess my main question is what drugs do you like to take for certain music related times?

Personally, i like to drink or take some kind of amphetamine before playing a show. If its before practice though, i like to either smoke weed, or take dxm. If me and some buddies are just jamming, then ill do any of the above.

So what about yous guys's?

I play drums my favorite would have to be....Alchahol, blow or meth....maybe pot...not psychedelics maybe if i was a guitar player...

i usually write music sober now because my current drug regime consists solely of pychedelics/hallucinogens which i only use on average 2-3 times a month.

however, as far as drugs and music go:

hardcore/gabber (electronic) - amphetamines, coke, or dxm

hip hop (rapping over jacked beats) - weed, amphetamines (combined or alone) acid

stoner/hard rock - weed, acid, shrooms

hardcore punk/grindcore/thrash/etc. - amphetamines, alcohol

psychedelic rock - acid, shrooms, lsa, psychedelics in general

weird droning shit - dxm

that's what i can think of off the top of my head. drugs definetly make things interesting as far as writing goes.

Guitarist here. Before a show, I like a cocktail or two to loosen up a bit and that's it. No weed, makes me nervous. Back in the day I played so many shows drunk and coked out of my mind I can't even tell you. In fact, my band did a video, and in the live footage, we're all jaw-grinding so hard it's unbelievable.

Now, the sanctuary of my home is another story. I enjoy doing a fun dose of opiates, and wailing away ('till I start to nod, then it's off to the couch). And smoking weed and playing by myself is usually enjoyable also.

I am a drummer and I will take any and all drugs before a show or practice. I prefer opiates, alcohol, and pot. I don't know about other musicians, but it seems I can play drums still perfect even while heavily intoxicated. this ain't "beer goggles" either.

usually it is just alcohol consumed, you drink that a lot when you play shows at bars

I love rap music - Def Jux, Rhymesayers, etc, etc, and I hate ketamine. Apart from the obvious connection of AceRock's 11:35 track from Bazooka Tooth, I don't really see the connection between good rap and ketamine. Care to enlighten?

Maybe i'm slow today, but I can't see anything that could be about K in this track, anyone care to explain?

I feel where you are coming from, because when I do K it seems like the bass of the music I listen to is augmented somehow. it just sounds more powerful and booming. this is good for rap music because rap is heavy on the bass.

ketamine is weird, music is hit or miss for me, usually miss though. Slow tech house or acid is really fun on ket, so is loud dnb.

Listening to rap on opiates is a fucking sin. In fact, not listening to at least one Lou Reed/V.U. song during an opiate binge is a fucking sin as well.
