Hello,

I have a question about the relation between drugs and heartrate.
I have not tried a lot of drugs so far (only Nitrous and Poppers to be honnest). But Poppers, for example, has strong effect on my heartbeat (fast and pounding).

I would like to know what drugs have a strong effect on heartrate ? And if there are some that have the opposite effect (to speed it down) ?

Thank you very much
Brandsh

marijuana and most stimulants (cocaine, amphetamines, etc) cause a profound increase in heartrate. i don't know of any recreational drugs which greatly slow down the heart.

Mixing drugs that play with your heart rate is a Bad Idea.

In general anything that affects cholinergic, muscarinic, noradrenaline or adrenergic receptors will have an (usually stimulatory) effect. Cocaine, yohimbine, amphetamine, caffeine etc will all raise heart rate. Beta blockers or anti-adrenergics will slow it down.
