Except it's fairly well accepted that not everyone will be proven guilty, so it doesn't make a whole lot of difference. I do see your point though. :\
 
Goddamnit I am so fucking pissed, this shit has just actually happened to me, and yes I live in Illinois.

My car has been seized, and it is not a cheap car, I'm gonna get a lawyer and fight the shit out of this. It pisses me off enough to read about these injustices but when it actually happens in real life its a whole different type of resentment it puts in you.

Oh and also, I haven't been charged with a single crime throughout all this. I really am fully innocent and have no criminal charges at all, and I was shocked to actually find out that they really can do this, I never would've thought they would have the right to do this. I mean they do a lot of fucked up shit but this tops it.

I actually came on this site tonight to see if I can gather any information on this exact topic, and I see it splat on the front page of bluelight. Amazing that two other people also seem to be suffering the same thing as me on this thread. What the fuck is this? has the chicago area been doing some sort of crackdown lately?

Or maybe they're police departments are running low on cash so they're taking the dishonorable route to raise funds. :X

I don't deserve any of this shit, had no drugs on me at all.

My car was seized by NYS. The case was dismissed last week and I'm still waiting to get it back nowl. Its been about 8 months, fucking b.s
 
I don't have my car back but I like to think I am making progress, I'll give you guys more details after things proceed further.

Also I think not having my car fully paid off will be working for my aid on this one.

What do you guys think? I would like to hear some more stuff from people who have more experience in this than me.

Yea my lawyer told me they basically want cars that are paid off. So that may help.

Been 2 weeks since my case was dismissed, still waiting on my fucking car.

What the fuck. Isn't that pretty much direct evidence they're seizing assets for the cash, rather than to reduce the mobility of drug dealers or whatever reason the law was passed for in the first place?

Well just though I'd update.

Got my car back, and it was actually in very good condition. They just chipped the paint above my wheel well, I was expecting a lot more.

They also kept my $250, and they Stole my Ipod/everything else in my car. It just all happened to have went missing.

Glad to hear of you getting your car back, I wish I could say that you should take some action against your missing ipod but I don't know how far that would go or if it would be worth it.


I remember a while ago I was mugged and had my cellphone taken, later that night the dudes who mugged me got arrested and I get a call from a detective the next morning who said he found my phone.

Detec comes to my apartment and takes me down to the station has me and point out the two dudes who did it in a line-up where everyone other than them was a homeless bum. After all this, I don't get my phone back since "they need to use it for evidence". While I'm there one of the cops hanging out casually remarks to me how if it was up to him he'd like to "take out his gun and kill every gang-banger n,igger on the streets."

Okay a couple months later I get a phone bill stating that my phone was used to make some calls to the bahamas. I go to the station and demand my cellphone back and everyone working there including the women are total meatheads as cops generally are and they're all total dicks to me. Of course when the detective was talking to me the first time he was really nice and even bought me an italian beef from portillo's complete with fries and drink. Cops will always try to be nice as hell when they're trying to get something out of you it's a sick chirade.

When it comes down to it cops are just selfish assholes, even if you are a victim. They could care less about justice and helping people, they just wanna make as many arrests as possible to make it look like they're working real hard to their bosses.
