Ill try to boil this question down quick. My girlfriend was pulled over a month ago and they tried to get her for DWI. She passed 2 road tests then the policeman pulled some BS about "We don’t do breathalyzers" anymore and she was brought to the Hospital for a blood test. The alcohol test came back under the States .08 limit but the results said it was pending for the drug results. They never told her anything about being tested for drugs when she was stopped. She is prescribed Xanax and they noted that. Problem is she took about 5 Ativans 48 hrs previously. At first I figured a benzo is a benzo and if she was taking her Xanax during the Ativan period she should be fine. Then she tells me she hadn’t taken her Xanax for about 72 hours. I think I know the answer but are benzos tested in general or will they find the specific Ativan? Thanks for any info. (There’s a lot of legal BS here too and we will fight if there’s any issues but I was just wondering)

benzo's are just tested in general, there isnt a differentiation that they will be able to tell in her blood. It is like having 2 different kind of opiate pain killers in your system, they just know its an opiate not that it was a perc.
Because they arnt testing for Ativan nor Xanax, they are testing for benzodiazepines which is the active ingrediant in both. So she'll be good, well, kinda, still fail it for them, but nothing specific
