Drug Test Child Support Recipients?!

Iowa State Senator Mark Chelgren has introduced an amendment to Senate budget bill 2336, but his amendment doesn't have much to do with the state budget. In fact, Chelgren's proposal targets divorced families, and more importantly child support recipients. It would allow the parent to require the parent receiving support to submit to a drug test up to every 6 months.

This reminds me of the "Drug Test Welfare Recipients" thing that was going around a few months ago. Why do people automatically assume if a person is receiving money not from working, that right away they are spending it on drugs? I feel that's what they are essentially saying by trying to pass these type of bills.

whatever, this'll never pass. All I'd have to do to get myself off the financial hook is catch my ex slipping and make a phone call.
