Drug slang you hate

We just call them bars. To the other poster: Whats wrong with candyflipping? are there any other phrases that you could use? Tonight I am planning to use some methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine and lysergic acid diethylamide :P

I don't mind 'candyflipping' but when people try and make up variations it gets kind of stupid. I've heard hippyflipping for mushies + mdma and kittyflipping for K + MDMA. They just don't make any sense and sound like the person is trying way too hard.

I realise this is the australian forum but I just had to mention that when you try to buy clean needles on the street in the tenderloin area of san francisco they are invariably referred to as 'outfits'. never heard this anywhere else and took me the longest time to figure out what the hell i was being offered. was it clothing? pills? untaxed cigarettes? confused the hell out of me until i finally pressed one of the street dealers into showing me wtf he was talking about... then said "ohhhhh, okay" and walked off without buying any, probably confused the hell out of him but he deserved it for doing the same to me. none of them would use any other term, if they had said spike or rig or point i would have known but it just bothered me that thats the only word they would use.

Interesting one of the main aussie slang terms for needles is 'fits'. Weird how some terms seem to cross continental boundaries.

The whole valium/xanax thing doesn't bother me, I mean it's still the same chemical you're referring to and it rolls off the tongue much easier than saying 'hey you have any diazepam?'

Also, esh, shortened version of session.
"Oi kunt lets go for an esh ay, smoke sum mad choof"
^ The context it is pretty much used in all the time.

In another thread gimpman says he hates the word 'use' so I thought I'd open up a thread in which we can all bitch and moan about drug slang that just isn't right. Whether it be stupid names made up by the media, a word your mates use to try and sound cool or just plain misleading garbage, get it all out here.

My pet hate will always be 'smokable speed' and the like, but I also hate the expression 'have a taste'. It makes me skin crawl, and reminds me of scummers trying to scab heroin, 'orr bruz jist a tayste, jist geive ahs a tayyste!'

my name is Gimpan fitsonafirstdatecrazy. I qam but no means a man.

I also hate feeling uncomfortable not knowing the 'lingo'with circles other than my regular circles.

MDMA:
Thizz
Nang
Gurn
Beans
Rolls
"Triple stacked"
What the cool people call it: Adam, molly, or mdma

Coke:
Fishscale
Girl
What the cool people say: white

Heroin:
Bang
Slam
Horse
Rig
Fit
Works
What the cool people say: brown, heavy, dope

I promise, I don't hate all slang, it is just hella imprecise.

MDMA:
"Triple stacked"
.

Oh dude, the amount of times i have people tell me that they have "mad triple stacked pills bro i waz rolling for a week man fukin crazy dooood"
I just shake my head. What drug dealer who wants a profit triple stacks a pill? Silly children.

I hate the term Charlie, people use it for both meth and coke in vic.

8 Ball, I find a strange term, because it's much more an American term, and I always forget how much is in an 8 ball. I think it's 3.5 grams but really I'm not sure, nor do I know why it's called an 8 ball in the first place.

I think we can all agree that our good friend Molly is the best slang, it's rolls off the tongue so well.

like sustanon said 8ball is slang for 3.5g or 1/8th of an ounce (a metric ounce). Its a good slang term i think cos the times i bought cocaine in the US and Canada it was sold mostly in corners of plastic lunch bags and all clumped into a ball. It was often just called a 'ball'. I dont think many people realise a proper ounce is actually 28.34g. In the usa which still uses the imperial system, converting an ounce to metric makes 28.34g
.
i dont like the term 'white' for cocaine cos white i think is more commonly linked with #4 heroin like brown is #3 heroin. Besides lol coke to me would be better with slang like beige or grey sparkles lol

Not really, I don't even mind slang. If I were to make a list it's go:
1. Cannabis
2. Bud or herb
3. Ganja
4. Weed, my main choice when referring to Cannabis colloquially through habit
5. Other slang terms
6. Marijuana, dope, pot, grass
I just hate the origin of Marijuana and it's early uses. I'm not one of those people who is really strict about calling it Cannabis (although I can understand their defiance to 'marijuana')
In fact, I don't care what you call it as long as I get high
Also, just because it's popular and used in legal ways, I still consider it slang, especially considering it's origin. Botanical names are where it's at. Cannabis represent.

But that's because you've grown up calling things ounces, half oz. etc. If you'd grown up saying '14er' instead of 'halfer' it'd be just as easy to visualise.
With that being said, I think the imperial system is phonically better. I'd much rather say an ounce than 28 grams as it just sounds more elegant imo.

That's because Australia didn't go metric until 1972 (IIRC) - we started dealing with weed in terms of ounces etc. If we'd been metric all along, no way would a standard deal be a fraction of an ounce - it would be 1g, 2g, 5g, 10g, 20g, 50g or some such. You wouldn't be getting a "14er" because that would be a ludicrous standard size in metric. A bit like why bits of wood come in 1.8m, 2.4m etc - just a throw back to our Imperial origins (learn your place, convicts!)

I know that (except I didn't know our conversion was in '72) it was just an example to show it'd be as easy to visualise the amount whether you use the words 'half ounce' or '14 grams'

Fair enough - I can see why you consider it slang and I agree re: the origins. I still don't feel it is slang anymore due to the reasons I stated in my last post, but I can see your logic behind it.

One thing I do not agree with though: you refer to Cannabis as weed. If you choose to do this, then it's more than a little hypocritical to nitpick as you have done in this thread when the terms "marijuana" or "pot" are used.

Yeah I didn't realise 8 ball meant one/8th of an ounce, kind of feel like a noob for not realising that myself, seeing I've studied third year university maths :P
Definitely makes alot more sense now, but I still don't much like the term. Although I have no problem with people using a quater.

As I said, it's a habit. They're all just words, I don't truly care about them, but since this is a thread themed around whining about slang terms we dislike, I'm voicing my opinion on it.
I also find weed has a sense of irony, as opposed to the other slang terms. As far as my nitpicking goes, I still find 'weed' less derogatory than 'marijuana', and in the instance of pot I think if you're going to say 'referring to ____ as ______' it's silly to use slang in both spaces.

Weed just is a reference to a grouping of plants people consider noxious and non beneficial, in example "weed the garden". Cannabis is the correct botanical name for the genus but whatever. "Marijuana" is what the Mexicans call it and that is why it was used in the anti-cannabis "reefer madness" BS that went down way back when. It was chosen because of american prejudice against Mexican people and because cannabis was seen by society at the time as a very useful medicine.... the irony.

When I was taking too much MDMA a lot of my mates called them pingas, said they where pinging of their head.

The other one back then was cracking, yeah off pills, "I'm cracking hard man".

Can't believe I put up with that shit, lol.
