I've always found this saying to be retarded. say I'm a coke dealer. does that mean if I want to get lit, I should go out and find another coke dealer and buy shit from him?
no...it means if you buy two ounces...one for personal use and the other to sell it makes good business sense to move your shit asap before you run out.
bad businessmen will just dip into their merchandise when they run out...these dealers won't last.

My theory on this differs from the other two posters above. You can use drugs and be a dealer.
however, look at all the baller heroin and coke dealers in the past. "dont get high on your own supply " doesn't straight up mean "don't get high" It means that you should do another drug besides the one you are selling, that way you aren't getting your DOC at wholesale prices and doing it all...
i.e You actually have to pay for the drugs you do...so in theory you do less, and make more money at the same time
